The Agrestix formed because we wanted to bring straight up, fun, punk rock to our scene which seemed to lack the appeal we craved at the time. Our influences consisted of bands like cocksparrer, The exploited and Oxymoron to name a few. But we derived influences from all over the punk rock spectrum to our music and wanted to take away divisions in our scene. This didn't work entirely but no matter what people tell us, we've been sticking to our ideals since day one ! When we started in 2004 the band consisted of Tony on guitar , Jack on drums, and Jermz on bass. Some people liked us, most people hated us. The band made a start locally in the midst of the quad city punk scene of Iowa and Illinois. Not a very large punk scene but growing steadily. After a year Jack was replaced by several people but eventualy Erik was brought in on drums , and Nick joined as a second guitarest before being replaced by Jeremy . After recording a 3 song E.P. entitled "Welcome to Hell" we joined to Charged Records which released the single on vinyl. Around this time the band continued to play locally, regionally and went on tour in summer of 2007 playing mostly the eastern states. Right now the band is working on releasing a full length album and getting ready to play our first show in almost 2 years !(way too long) So keep checkin back for updates on our next shows.
