Fri 4th of Dec DUB SIDE OF SIMMER is a stripped back side project of Melbourne Afro-Dub band Simmer. This band features 'Soup' (Miso) bringing his unique live Dubscape/manipulation to the group as well as violin, bass, drums, guitar and local guest vocalists. The ex-Tasmanian and drummer for critically acclaimed band The Drones has just returned home from his third US/European tour with the band this year, and just in time to attend this years ARIA Awards in which the group have been nominated for Best Rock Album, Best Independant Release and Best Group. As well receiving three ARIA nominations the bands song 'Shark Fin Blues' was voted Best Australian Song Ever in the latest edition of Jmag. Noga is currently putting the finishing touches on his new solo album before heading back to London one more time to play the All Tomorrows Parties Festival in December. You can catch Noga when he's back in town playing solo on Xmas Eve at The Alley Cat Bar with good friend and fellow ex-Tasmanian Matt Bailey. Tickets available from the venue.

Melbourne gypsy phenomenon The Woohoo Revue are back in Tasmania, with shows booked at the Alley Cat in North Hobart on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August
This is a great chance to see The Woohoo Revue ahead of the 2010 Cygnet Folk Festival. The group will be one of the headline acts in next year’s festival and will be the main dance band on the Saturday night.
The Woohoo Revue have rapidly made a name for themselves around Australia for their big sounding gypsy tunes. This month alone, the band is performing major shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide as well as in numerous regional areas.
