The Allusions began as the brain child of Singer/Song writer/Guitarist Philip Escobedo's venture into the Detroit music scene.
Phil's song writing technique had evolved to a very melody driven hooky/catchy vibe and unable to fit in with the style of any of the bands he tried out for, Phil decided to put together his own band.
The first incarnation of the band featured Chris Henderson (Drums) and Brian Arvis (Bass) and Ben Yates (organist/synth player). The four recorded an 8 track demo EP, but before it could be released the band broke up.
Undeterred Phil & Brian called upon old bandmate Curtis Slough from Phil's previous group, THE MYSTIKS (myspace.com/themystiks) to fill the drumspot, and Brazilian musician Joao Cavalcante lay down the keys. The four were on the same wavelength from the get go, and learned half of their set in the first rehearsal. The band continues to forge on trying to make a name for themselves in the lavish Detroit music scene
