"Fragile picking and a haunting delivery reverberate with the ghosts of British folk like the hybrid, conjoined spirit of Sandy Denny and Nick Drake" ~Bob Gulla/The Providence Phoenix
"Pick any song and you will enjoy some sweet sadness, soft smiles, and a wonderful glimpse of sunshine. Perfect music for a drive through the desert, or in my case a lazy afternoon in a sunlit lounge."
~Simon Lewis/Terrascope
""Hopey" is a brilliant, anomalous blend of ethereal acoustic chords and vocals inspired by both contemporary female rock icons and the folk traditionalists of long ago. Callery’s delivers a studio debut with dignity, expertise and a passion for beautiful music."
~Beth Farnham /Mercury(Newport)
I play nylon string guitar the way your mother sang you to sleep...
Allysen Callery's debut studio album "Hopey" was chosen one of the "Top Local Cds of 2007" by the Providence Phoenix

HOPEY- The PROVIDENCE PHOENIX says:
"There's something magical about Allysen Callery's new album. It has a dreamy quality that feels mysterious and bewitching. The opening tune, "Feathercap," sounds somewhat like Sandy Denny, with a subtle soprano sweetness. In fact, a British folk influence permeates Hopey. Allysen's acoustic guitar sits in a pocket well behind her vocals with muted tones, and the delicate accompaniment is haunting in the frailest way, as if Allysen is afraid that any noise might disrupt the mood.
But it's the ambient nature of this recording that distinguishes it from others in the genre and it's the only acoustic album since I started writing this column that invokes such haunting British spirits."

I think Myspace is a great tool to find common ground/air/space... & I love how it is so sweet to hear beautiful music from all over.
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

About the wolf picture, Christa said, "She can do whatever she likes with it. It's hers!"
Looking forward to seeing you again. Your videos and recordings don't do you justice. You're an artist who needs to be seen, not just heard. Has anyone ever told you that? Brilliant.
