Diary Entry - Wednesday 10th June 2009 - Lovely Danish mates and Lincs FM experience!...
Hi all, a lot has happened since our Danish tour, we have been here, there and everywhere!!!! From the Isle of Wight where we played literally on the edge of a cliff at a bike rally called ‘Over The Edge’ and they really weren’t joking!...all the way to the Bourne Festival up in the Lincoln-shire’s!!! Weekend just gone we had the privilege of having our favourite Danish lads FORD T over from, obviously Denmark! We both rock and rolled Lincolnshire from Boston to Bourne and Grimsby. Bourne Festival was awesome, a few thousand people there cheering us on, it was insane. Saw a few of our T-shirts being worn in the crowd, now that’s ACE!!! Sold merchandise and did some signing’s, I’m only your average Joe, but that’s cool because it’s so wonderful to be appreciated. Monday night was nerve-racking for me, I don’t know why because I always get excited instead of nervous before rockin out. I’ll explain…we entered the Lincolnshire Show-off competition from Lincs FM for the chance to strut your stuff at the Lincolnshire Show on 24th and 25th June. We were accepted into the auditions, so we rocked up to Newark where the auditions were being held in a church!...signed in and waited patiently to show the judges what we could do, a bit like a Britain’s Got Talent event. We watched the Lincolnshire talent that was on during the night and then second to last it was our turn…BANG, out with Race The Devil by Girlschool, lots of cheers from the crowd, me darting towards the audience and rockin my head all over the place. It felt good! The judges were ‘beautiful’ and accepted us to play at the Lincolnshire Show. WAHOOOOO!!!! We had a couple of interviews with Lincs FM, I can get up on stage and perform no problem but as for talking into a mic that is being recorded for an interview I think I need to definitely work on that, too nervous you’d never believe it! We met John Marshall who very kindly mentioned us on radio Tuesday morning that ‘The Almaboobies were hip favourite last night!’ how cool is that, thank you! Well that was a mental weekend; I look forward to many more ker-azie rock and roll experiences. Just to let ya’ll know, we have now finished recording our new CD and are now just waiting on the artwork and printing up to be done, so keep an eye out on our site over the next few months for our NEW CD!!!!!!! Bye bye dudes and dudettes, rockers and moshers, see you soon. Love The Almaboobies, Elizabeth. xxx
