I am a person who loves people and the universe we live in, with a heated passion. So I love all the things to do with people and the universe in which we live, like philosophy, ethics, psychology (though not when it masquerades as a science), physics, religion, spirituality, art, metaphysics, legends, biology, zoology, history, music, mathematics... and on and on goes the list...
I am particularly fond of philosophy, art, writing and music, all of which I use as ways to explore and express my obssession of human beings and the world. I mean, you've gotta be amazed by it all, or you're just bloody well dull.
Music
Things like Nirvana, Debussy, Korn, The Nightwatchman, System of a Down, Jack Off Jill, Kimya Dawson, Duke Special, Laura Marling, and Sheelanagig.
I have a wide taste in music.
But that's the nearest you're gonna get to a band list from me, and I don't necessarily like all the songs by those artists, 'cause writing lists annoys me (I like prose! Why doe no-one write in prose any more?), and 'cause I'm not a total obsessive.
Just an obsessive compulsive.
Movies
Just some of my favourite movies, in no particular order at all, are American Beauty, Lost In Translation, Trainspotting, Fight Club, K-PAX, Ice Age, Donnie Darko, Monty Python and the Life Of Brian, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dark Star, Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, PotC II, American History X, Iron Man and Closer. I do love my movies!
And yes, that's alot of variety. Variety is the spice of life!
Television
QI; Quite Interesting. It is the best ever TV show ever made! Well, it at least ties with Doctor Who, and Farscape. Though the Peacekeeper Wars was shit. House MD is magnificent, and Blackadder (all bar the first series, clearly) is wonderous. I'm also a follower of Torchwood.
Though in general I'm not a TV person. I like my series to be on DVD or hard drive, thankyou. No evil advertising there!
Books
The best authors are those akin to Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, the Marquis De Sade, Kurt Vonnegut, Oscar Wilde and George Orwell.
And I shall include poets here too - Roger McGough, William Blake, Shakespeare and Tennyson are marvelous crafters of language.
Heroes
My friends and chosen family. Without the wonderful human beings around me, I wouldn't be who I am now
"Even if Jesus came down tomorrow and said 'behold for I am groovy and turn water to wine for frat parties' he wouldn't look at The Bible and go 'yup that's about right' he'd say it was interpretational and it's great that people wrote his biography and included his friends, but he was never called for an interview" - Mandi Lorencz
About me:
Before I begin : only recently I was drafted in by a good friend of mine and excellent musician, Leah Keller, to create her mini-album cover. Possibly in the works is a video to go with, but that depends on time and money. Fingers crossed! In the meanwhile, enjoy Leah's fantastic music!
Hello the fellow peoples of the earth! How is everyone these days? Still brutally murdering, raping and stealing from each other? Oh good, it's nice to know that some things never change. I suppose you have to live with the hope that there are more people out there like your friends, the cool ones who don't give a shit about what the world thinks, and just do what they believe is right... I know I do. I mean - people are awesome, but people are just plain old stupid.
But thats enough about that, lets talk about me.
I am The Almighty Bobbu. But then you already know that, it says it quite clearly at the top of the page! So, what am I?
I am an artist, a performer, a writer, a poet, a lover, a deviant of the sadistic and dominant variety.
I am pipe smoker, a philosopher, a spiritualist, an empath, a web designer by necessity and a lover of humanity by choice.
I am bipolar, an ethicist, an individual, a philosophical and political anarchist of sorts, a shameless human being, and not a liar.
And I do hate trying to describe myself, as there is no real 'me'. I am a being who is aware of existing, and that, pretty much, sums it up.
Artist
I am an artist in every sense of the word, working in any medium I can, from sculptures in clay and plastacine to painting anything from walls to postcards (primarily in acrylics). These days I'm even venturing into film and animation, photography being an old favourite of mine. I always like to throw my heart and my head completely into anything I do, so everything I do means something very intense to me, and I can only hope that my work succeeds in its aim of making people think and feel with a little more intensity than they do in everyday life. The best place to find my work at the present moment is my DevitantArt page - bobbu.deviantart.com.
Performer
I have a fair bit of performance experience, from college productions to hosting parties and events in role as a compere. I love taking on another persona and living it out on a stage or where-ever it is that I happen to be performing! It's just another art form, and one I take great pleasure in. When performing comedy I've been compared to Spike Milligan, the Pythons, and Bill Bailey at one time or another - here's one of the reasons why...
Poet
I am a rather prolific poet. Well I'm pretty prolific with everything I do, producing silly amounts of work in general. There's not much of it about at the moment - I'm going through an editting phase. My work tends to be of an emotional, political or philosophical bent; I'm a man of both heart and head, and my various collections of writing hopefully show as much. I do love reading my poetry though, it just adds that extra dimension.
That was recorded in December 2006, at a charity event in Liverpool. It was in a time I know as B.D. - Before Dreadlocks...
Web and Graphic Designer
I am a burgeoning webdesigner, always trying to push my philosophy into interactive media - 'there's no reason for anything to not look good'. Functionality and aesthetics are always in need of effective blending, and as a webdesigner I make that my aim. In this respect, I work as and for the magnificent Mortis2000 Ltd!
We are in the business of conception, design, innovation and solution. We pretty much do anything you could ever need, business-wise, in the modern age. Website design, development and production, connectivity, networking, custom computer builds, graphics... hell, you name the challenge, we'll complete it, so long as it's within a generally techie and arty sphere. It's thanks to the guys at Mortis2000: Jamie Reader - the founder, Robbie Dixon - the most tech-savvy of us all, and Mike, the man with a van. I mostly make it all look pretty, and the guys make it work. But I am more than capable of doing most of the techie stuff myself, as many of my friends are very aware!
Who I'd like to meet: The Librarian, Rincewind, Jesus, Buddha, Socrates, an alien, Stephen Fry, Bill Hicks, Bill Bailey, Immanuel Kant, David Hume, The Marquis De Sade, Anton Szandor La Vey and... myself, but not in a dark alleyway.
Sorry, they all have to be real? Ok then - intelligent, creative human beings. That would be nice!

Is your soul black with the tarry residue of festive hypocrisy ? Does the yawning crevasse of self loathing open beneath you every time you enter the portals of a shopping mall ?. Do you find yourself screaming internally at the recycled polyphonic muzak, selected by reindeer fucking corporate elves( in accordance with consumer demographics & market research on starving rats) to promote a percentile increase in the sale of razor blades and dairy products ?.
Well your fucked, sunshine. The tide of the collective unconscious is against you and, like a mutinous pirate buried up to his neck in the sand, your only option is to drown screaming in seasonal flotsam.
Until now that is. Finally we have an alternative. Get pissed, get laid, get angry but most of all get your ass down to the Thekla, Saturday 20th Dec for The Whores. £4 on the door & free sex for any of you inbred fucks who don't make me physically sick to look at. First band on at 8pm, don't be late.
yup, i'm okay. i amused myself by making a funny(ish) version of some already amusing scottish anthem..the novelty hasn't worn off yet. You should come up to warrington again and this time not be so busy! love. x x x
