WE ARE THE ALPHITES!
We became the first band to perform and channel 4’s hit TV soap Hollyoaks in July! We got to play ‘live’ on Television performing in Hollyoaks Student Union. We got given this fantastic opportunity when Hollyoaks producer Bryan Kirkwood saw us play live in Liverpool’s Hannahs Bar. He approached us after the show and said he would love us to appear on Hollyoaks…after seconds of careful consideration we agreed!
We release our first single for digital distribution in July called, ‘You’re Not Ugly You’re Lovely’ which was quite successful! We have since been writing an entire new set of exciting more rock driven tunes which we are looking to record and release in the near future.
We have done many things such as headlined the Manchester Academy as well as play many other big venues such as Carling Academy, Liverpool Academy, Barfly Liverpool! We have also played Matthew Street Festival last year by winning a competition run by the city called Street Waves and are now hoping to get the opportunity to progress and get a full set.
We have supported some big acts in the past such as Rooney, Men Women And Children, Ray Quinn, Hot Club de Paris, 747’s and the list goes on..
We have played on air and been interviewed on some big radio stations such as Juice FM, BBC Radio Merseyside, KCR!
Exactly a year ago we won Juice Fm’s Next Big Thing competition and beat hundreds of other applicants. As a result of that we won our self some free recording time and merchandise. Now a year on were getting a lot of press coverage such as a live acoustic performance on the Juice FM and lots of airplay for our songs.
