Sounds Like
Solitude, memory, the slow passage of time, the little things in nature that you don't always notice.
The Ambassadors of Sorrow live somewhere small, wild and strange in Cornwall. Believing in the beauty of sad songs, the Ambassadors weave tales of love, loss, longing and hazy memories...
Their other musician friends sometimes join them -- when they can find them, that is.
The Ambassadors have recently scored two independent films and supported A Hawk and a Hacksaw.
'Loathsome Food' is now available as a limited edition 7" single from kabukikore records, and the 'Loathsome Food EP' featuring four tracks is now live on iTunes for your downloading pleasure.
Some say they sound like Julie London singing the songs of Johnny Cash. This pleases the Ambassadors of Sorrow.

Well in an idle moment I decided to record a cover of Aerosmith’s classic power ballad ‘What It Takes’ (from their 1989 album Pump, also featuring such immortal cuts as ‘Young Lust’ and ‘Love In An Elevator’). This isn’t some kind of knowing, ironic cover like when a band does a Britney Spears song or something – I genuinely love the song (well, I used to anyway), although I have attempted to divest it of some of its undeniable cheesiness. Mind you there’s only so much you can do with lines like “Your love made me a prisoner, yes my heart’s been doin’ time”…
This will probably be up on the myspace page for only a short time as, technically speaking, we don’t have Aerosmith’s *actual* permission to use it. I’m also told this type of thing runs contrary to some kind of arcane myspace regulation…?
For the purposes of comparison here is the original in all its big-haired glory, complete with one of the greatest (by which I mean shittest) videos ever:
Hello, sorry it took so long, I haven't been on here much. It's great to run across someone who actually know who Hank Mizell was :) Hope everything's going great and that you have a wonderful week!
Hey there Ambassadors of Sorrow. Hope you are all well. Loathsome Food - what a tune!
We have a new song up, "Dogs" - a chilling tale of canine revenge. Unusually for a My Pilot song, it is quite up-tempo and even features a discernible tune. Check it out if you get a spare 3 minutes 40 seconds.
WulfThing (Tom Barwick, the excellent viusal artist), Monarch (Andrew Hockey, the extraordinary folk guitarist) and my associate The Screechy Badman will be playing records and MP3s at the Jacob's Ladder, Chapel Terrace, Falmouth, Friday the 18th of April from 8 pm.
Expect:
No Wave, Post Rock, Progressive Metal, Psychedelic, Acid Folk, Elven Doom Pop, Pyschedelic Bubblegum, Ambient Russian, Mathcore, Sub Step, Odd Hop, Neu Afrikan and Good Old Country.
The Screechy Badman might even play some of my new stuff because he's nice like that.
thank you! unfortunately, no recording survives of the god-devil duet, but i will endeavour to remember the lyrics and send them asap. ps jack would gladly perform the musical equivalent of painting the stables and mucking out the donkeys for a band who wrote the song 'sorry eyes' wonderful stuff. thank you for caring. about anything...
