*note: Yes, we do realize that once upon a time Ted Nugent also had a band called The Amboy Dukes. He named the band after a book he read about an old street gang in Queens known as The Amboy Dukes... a street gang that our singer's grandpa was actually a member of. He and his buddies used to beat people up and steal cigarettes and such. Is this name copywrited by the nuge? Yes. Do we plan on changing our name as a result? No, and here's why: 1. We were just a local band playing in a college town for our friends. We weren't trying to make it big off the name or anything. 2. We are broken up, and any future gigs will just be "reunion shows". Changing the name now would be kind of pointless. 3. While Uncle Ted only read a book about the Amboy Dukes, we inherited the name by blood. Shea's grandpa would be bummed if we dropped the name to appease a one-hit wonder band that broke up several decades ago.
