The story of a band called The Anima began with a group of 4 skillful, experienced, finnish rock musicians making songs in Helsinki. The name Anima was taken for the friendly bad-ass group in the spring of 2005 when that group of 4 joined with a vocalist Matias.
Anima stands for spirit in the latin language and it has various different
meanings in multiple languages. It combines in a suitable way the romantic
lot of songs but also has a mystical meaning that is an interest of all
the players.
After short training period band made two demos and finally promo-EP, called Spirit Cultivation. Official release date was 6.6.06. 2008 band made a single called Lurancy in Scandal Recordings. With hepl of two guys Karl Huttunen and Kari "Huikka" Huikuri. Karl played keyboards to the single and produced it. Huikka were on the otherside of a mixing table. Single was mastered in Chartmakers by Henkka Niemistö.

Hieman julkeaa mainostusta! Ratas julkaisee 4.6.2008 uuden digisinglen "Mustavalkoinen maa". Biisi on lohkaisu syksyllä ilmestyvältä uudelta EP:ltä ja tulee siis nyt myyntiin digitaalisiin kauppoihin kautta maan, lista kaupoista lisätään omille sivuille myöhemmin. "Mustavalkoinen maa" on nyt pistetty kuunteluun Rataksen myspaceen. Sinne ja kotisivuille on lisätty myös uusi tyylikäs musiikkivideo. Käykääpä toki tsekkaamassa ja kommentoimassa!
