We are the Animal Crackers, an extremely talented group of DJs, Emcee's and Producers from Cincinnati, Ohio. The group, originally DJs, formed in the early nineties with the founding members Casual T (DJ/Producer/Engineer), King SMO (DJ/Producer), and The Cincinnati Kid (DJ/MC). We first began to collectively manifest our creative abilities on 1200's in 1995 by establishing our identities amongst the underground and creating our own unique and original sound. We built a consistent crowd of listeners through local nightclubs, and low-fi gigs for three years. Ultimately, our Wednesday nights became so successful that it was forced to a larger venue. In the spring of 1999 the Crackers started performing live routines and hosting emcee battles at Top Cats, where we continue to draw eager hip-hop crowds. About the same time two new members joined the circus, Mike B (DJ), followed by DQ (DJ), both natives of Cincinnati. As local succ ess grew so did AC by winning two City Beat Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, becoming Cincinnati Enquirer Cammy nominees and obtaining Unseen (MC) from Dayton and later Dirty Ru (Producer/MC/DJ) from Connecticut. Honorary members comprise of Mr. Dibbs, Nobody and Haiku. As a seven-man hip-hop group, consisting of six DJ's and three emcees, we are now wreaking havoc on the mid-west region. Our first releases were our break-beat Album, "Animal Cracker Breaks Vol.1", on Stereotype Records (March 2001) and our studio recorded collection of live routines "Just Add Water." Our second break record "Vanilla Hater Breaks" (July 2003) reemphasizes the exceptional ear we have for providing some of the greatest sounds ever put on wax. Solo projects include DQ's, "Where The Sidewalk Begins" and Casual T's "Random Xtract." Currently we are working on a second full length album and several individual/group projects. The pieces are placed and ready to be dropped. No
one has ever taken Me and my SKATEBOARD serious. It is more than just a
hobby. It is a way of life. Anyone who knows me can not remember me,
with out skating being involved at some point in time. I fell in love
with skating when I was 11 years old. My whole life since then has been
influenced by Skateboarding. Through the past 20 years it is the only
positive thing that has been constant in my life. I am serious. This is
serious. I need all the support I can get to take it to the next level.
I know I will probably never become a PROFESSIONAL SKATER, but there
are so many more aspects then that. I still love to skate, but found
that by being a positive influence to the next generation, being able
to share the experiences that I have had. I can learn to be a better
person, by helping the next kid I see heading down the dark path. Or
letting them know, and showing them there is HOPE.
