THE ANIMAL FARM is a music production company. We produce records, write songs, manage artists, run a publishing company and a record label. We're engaged in this great business that is the "music business". Notice how "music" comes before "business". We are based at the Biscuit Factory in London, near Tower Bridge. It's a cool community of music and entertainment based businesses and we can see the London Eye from our windows.
If you're an exciting new band making exciting new music - you should get in touch. As you should if you're a manager or a label looking for a producer or a co-writer for your artist.

The Animal Farm is run by producer/writers Mat and Ville Leppanen. We started our careers in 1993 by signing as songwriters to Bob Grace's Empire Music. Our career took a severe and welcome left turn when our punk band Snowdogs signed to Victory Records in the US. We toured the world from the late 90s until 2003 when we set up The Animal Farm. Consequently, our CV is a veritable smorgasboard of artists as diverse as At The Drive-In, Shakin' Stevens, Blink 182 and S Club 7...
If you want us to check you out, please direct us to your MySpace remembering to tell us what it is you're after.
Our contact details are here.
Please note that there are two things we don't do: book gigs or give feedback on demos. We're not a booking agent and... if it's feedback you're after, try turning your amp louder.... ;-)
We are represented by Safta Jaffery at SJP and we are partnered up with Taste Music.
The old saying goes: "It's all about great songs."
Please remember to update the saying as follows: "It's all about great songs but without great production nobody will know you've written one."
The old saying goes: "It's all about who you know."
Please update as follows: "It's all about who you know, but if you don't have a great record, you might as well talk about the weather with your contacts."
The inspirational American novelist Kurt Vonnegut said: "There is no reason good can't triumph over evil, if only angels get organized along the lines of the mafia." He also said: "A plausible mission for artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit." He went on to say that "The purpose of life is to love those who are around to be loved" and "We're here to fart around - don't let anyone tell you any different".
So it goes.
