Click HERE to purchase advance tickets for select Aquarium shows. The Aquarium, located at 226 Broadway in the upstairs of Dempsey's Public House, is a venue located in downtown Fargo, North Dakota. It opened in March 2006 to host primarily touring, independent and original artists in the mold of the now defunct Ralph's Corner. The Aquarium is only open when there is shows or events so watch the calenda.r It is a bar so most shows will be 21+ although occasionally there will be some bigger all-ages shows. DM Cooperative (Chris Hennen) books the majority of the shows. If you want these bands to continue to come to the area, please support the Aquarium. When we don't have a show booked, the Aquarium is available for private parties. Whether it be holiday, birthday, anniversary, wedding, no matter what, check us out. Amenties include full sound system and staff, full liquor service, and food catering all available at reasonable rates. If your event is at least a couple hours and is only for people over 21, its very possible with enough liquor sales, you could get the room for free. Feel free to contact us about dates. Thanks for checking out the music. Please stay in touch :) Fid is currently handling the comments so feel free to leave a note. In the meantime check out the links below
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
XXX - If you meet the minimum qualifications as described above. Email a link for your MySpace Page and if applicable, a link for your website to: recordingartistsearch@gmail.com
Only send one email with your links. Due to the volume of responses normally received for these types of opportunities. After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.
ATTENTION FARGO PUNK AND METAL KIDS! let me convince you that you should go to this show October 6th. First of all NUX VOMICA are really damn good and a pretty rare treat they are touring through this area. Second, it is also rare that me or Justin have booked a show in this city that everyone that attended was not happy with the show and walked away liking a new band they wouldn't have heard otherwise. I don't book touring bands that are not good....
I will also continue that it was extremely hard finding the "right" local/openers for this show because quite frankly, this type of metal is almost obsolete here. Not that the openers don't deserve respect, this show is about the two touring bands more than anything and demand your attention.
Please understand this. There are two touring bands that me and Bohmer are bringing to town that night, Nux Vomica from Portland and Javelina from Philly, that need to be in Missoula, Montana the next night.
Total Travel Estimates: 13 hours 13 minutes / 952.08 miles
The show is $5 (= ~ drink + tip at a bar). Red Raven cost $125 bux (25 people to pay), then we need to get both of these bands substantial gas money to do that 13 hour drive (one van / trailer for 952 miles = $165)(x2, because remember there are two touring bands). We will shoot for at least $100 per touring band, so on top of the first 25 heads to pay for the venue, we will need 40 more heads to get the bands at the very least that.
Go listen to the first four songs of Nux Vomica on their myspace in another tab on your browser while you go about your business and chat on facebook and email. It can be found here: www.myspace.com/nuxvomica2
hey thank u so much for the add! we really aprreciate it! come check out our songs and let us no what u think?!:) and if there is any shows we could get in on we would do it in a heart beat we really want to any and every show possible?
