Sei Smith on vocals, Ki Smith and Colin Kinniburgh on guitar, Cliff Venho on drums
Influences
in no particular order:
iggy and the stooges, beatles, velvet underground, ramones, nirvana, david bowie, the king khan and bbq show, the mummies, the white stripes, beck, the who, ’60s garage (modern lovers, paul revere and the raiders, 13th floor elevators...), black lips, moldy peaches, the clash, arctic monkeys, raconteurs, eels, new pornographers, neil young, whirlwind heat, yeah yeah yeahs, daniel johnston, them, led zeppelin, dead kennedys, etc.
Born in New York back when Sei, Ki, and Colin were just wee little kids with two acoustic guitars and an improvised percussion kit, the band has since witnessed a number of totally revolutionary changes, firstly when drummer Franco Cuttica joined a few years back. Franco's stay in the band was short-lived, however, as he moved away from the city about two years ago, at which point current drummer Cliff Venho joined the band. The group has played shows at venues like the Bowery Poetry Club, Don Hills and the Tank. They are hard at working booking many more shows, so stay tuned.
Email archetypesnyc@gmail.com for booking; we want to play all ages shows or parties at your house!
Also, we have a website and a group on facebook for those of you who are into that.
oh yeah, and all our songs are up here too in case you want to listen to something that's not on myspace
hey, i love your music, the singer sounds so similar to my imaginary friend Jimmy, it's crazy. he looks like a dork wad in your profile picture, but i guess he just gets into it, and he's pretty hot so that's cool. once again i must say you guys are very talented. keep up the good work.
The new tracks sound awesome. I was really surprised to hear my half-ass cowbell solo on there. You can actually hear someone shouting, "John Morgan!" at the end of "Something Else". HAHA.
I hate to see "Arctic Suntan" go, though. Had to be my favorite.
hey guys. i was wondering if yu guys ( at any show of yours) had an opening for another band we're definetly up for it. so let us know if you guys are playing anywhere where you need another band for that night. cheers guys, jona
hey you guys are playing the Bowery right? not to like impose, but is it possible if we could play that nihht too? its not certain, i have to ask the other guys, but if you guys could talk to the guys there thatd be awesome. thanks, john

Friday was AMAZING! I know I've already told you, but I can't say it enough. I think Friday's show was yours and our best show yet. Can't wait to play again.
I say yay-yah!
Sincerely, John Morgan (Vocals, Dr. Robot For The Sci-Fi Future)

You guy are intensely mind-blowing like a supremely marinated fillet of salmon. Your lyrics have penetrated the playground that is my mind and twisted all the swings, slides, and jungle bars into a gigantic sculpture of a guitar that sings me to sleep. The Archetypes are definitely worthy of Snozle Cheezpuff’s praise. You frequently rock my funny bone; keep it up. I also like your black and white photos, iconic. To infinity and beyond.
