About me: Art Conspiracy is an official 501(c)3 nonprofit group that strives to put on guerilla-style, affordable art fundraisers and use the proceeds from these events to reinvest in the local arts economy. By doing this, Art Conspiracy works to unite the Dallas Fort Worth arts and music communities and raise awareness of the local arts scene.
This year we're holding our event in a West Dallas warehouse at 3011 Gulden. It's spacious and very raw, hence this year's theme "Deconstructed."
Please circle Saturday, December 6th on your calendar and wear something warm to the event. We promise this will be like no other event you've ever been to in Dallas.
There will be work from 150 artists; music from Mount Righteous, The Chameleon Chamber Group and Aton; DJ sets from Sober and Select; a video installation from Edward Ruiz and Paul Slavens will emcee.
Since 2005, Art Conspiracy has raised more than $35,000 for charities including St. Anthony Community Center, La Reunion, and The Children’s Health Fund.
Our 2008 beneficiary is Preservation LINK, a nonprofit that provides media literacy opportunities - like photography lessons and videography projects - along with mentoring to students in South Dallas.
If you're unfamiliar with our M.O. here's how the Art Conspiracy December event works:
-The day before the event we have over 100 artists come to the site of the event
-The artists get an 18 x 18 plywood board and a set amount of time to create a unique work
-The work dries overnight and the next day its auctioned off in a live (sometimes frenzied and always entertaining) auction in between sets from Dallas-area bands
