the artful vandelays provide a viable alternative to alternative music. their collective influences negate each other such that their music cannot be politely categorized. while some have erroneously sought to put a name to their genre by prefixing rock or punk with the word "post," it remains certain that these titles do not apply, and indeed, seem irrelevant.
The new EP, Four Ring Circus was released January 2nd 2009 is available through independent record stores in Toronto or of course, at any of their shows.
By now, with new influences and a completely different attitude towards songwriting, the band is looking forward to sharing their new songs that are eventually to be geared towards a full length release.
nice. wanna catch a listen when you guys are done. we are actually living in korea now. but we will try and plan a us canada thingamabob in the future when we can afford to make it back for some shows. and we shall rock together. jru
Thanks, Kevin, I work 11:30am-8pm this week (central-north-west Mississauga). Not sure whether it's feasible this time, especially since it starts at midnight in Burlington. Maybe next time, again, if feasible. See how it is...
Busy yet stage-dynamic bass playing, amazing drum licks, great guitar/vocals interplay. Good to see you playing tonight and hope to see you again next time. Maybe not in Guelph, to not have to drive back to Oakville very late night but hopefully next day in Toronto.
How nice of you to say so. Thank you kindly. We're still building our catalogue of songs, so once we've got that down pat we'll be able to invest resources into the better equipment fund. :)
As a side, your music seems to be putting quite the smile on my face.
The show on the 17th in Guelph is actually our first trip to guelph, so I don't personally know what the Albion is like. But, from inside guelph sources, the Albion is one of the best music spots in Guelph.
thanks so much! we had fun, peanut butter was from my friend who brought it, Kraft peanut butter, they don't have that in the U.S. I was just representin that gift yo
whats up!? those recording sound amazing, good job, they spiced up my lazy afternoon a lot. when you guys are playing shows again, we should play one together. i also really like that new artwork.
Thanks guys (and girl!) My computer is dead and I've been pretty uninspired lately, but I'd like to at some point in the not-so-distant future, record an actual album. When and if that day comes, I'll let you know.
Just thought I'd tell you that we in Amber Oak have recorded some of our material which is currently available at our myspace. So if you have any spare time, please have a listen and if you want to, you can also download the tracks to your computer.
Any feedback, good or bad, would also be greatly appreciated!
