   About The Articles

The Articles debut single
"Monochrome Vigilante / Smacked and Abandoned"
is out now - on limited edition 7" vinyl and as a digital download from the website. Click the banner above for a list of stockists.

From Soundsxp:

"This gem of a single proffers 60s garage riffs mixed with gorgeous shimmering keys (Monochrome Vigilante) and quirky shuffling ska (Smacked and Abandoned) ... they call their music "psychedisco punk", I call it bloody good fun. Well worth checking out "p>
From Unpeeled magazine:
"Listening to this is like dancing on hot spikes, you have to move. Call it ska if you like, but that piano is music hall, that guitar is class and that rhythm section works more overtime than George Best's barman. One to buy and play."

Our second single ‘Bill Hicks’ is now available for pre-order.

As you may know we are self-managed, self-published, and self-released on our own record label. Our debut single "Trauma Town" entered at #9 in the Official UK Independent Label charts and we're hoping to make this one go even bigger:

Pre-Order MP3 Download of ‘Bill Hicks’ from Play. com here.

Cheers! Al, Jonno, Steve & Nigel.

Hi Jon
I remember Lucky Pierre! You live in London now? Sketchy does too. That's why NM ended when it did cos he moved there with his job. "To be or not to be" is my very very very favourite too. It gave me goosebumps when I played it at gigs. Mick's in a million bands including Thoria!!, Richard is a promoter now in cov and manages a band and I'm in another noisy band! Thanks Jon

I reckon JJ and Moodswings sound wicked. I'm a bit pissed and a bit stoned, but I really do think they sound gooood.
Maybe you might want to come to Melbourne to reord your first album??
Write to my email Jim and Jon I dont have your email adresses.
Cheers

some baddass funk/disco basslines in there and jimmy jimmy wang wang's vocals are as amazing as ever...

Hey hey! Thanks for the kind words, it's always nice to get some feedback and definitely if it's as good as "Radiohead at their finest"! I am suitably humbled!

You can download any of our tracks gratis from our website my good friends. The original and remix versions of Recycled Air are both up there, just look on the downloads page (that's www.capulets.co.uk in case you didn't know).

Hopefully catch you at one of your/our gigs soon (we're playing on Sunday, if you're around...)

Thanks for the kind words, lads.
Not an unrequited feeling, I assure you- but doomed are we to a long-distance relationship (feel free to see other people, ok?)
Seriously, I'll not be playing the U.K. any time soon but should I make it to said green and pleasant shores again some day I'll be intent on witnessing the sheer reported exuberance of your live show.
Keep the killer tracks rolling and have a blast at the upcoming gig!

Even after all these years you still can't spell my name. I'm well up for another Golden Fire, the reason I didn't reply was that I'm ready any time, provided I don't do a Syd Barrett in the next two weeks. Fucking Shakey ya see. We did Dunc's bassline at t' weekend. Gaaahh!!!

Jun 3 2007 10:58 PM

Hey- excellent new track! Ripe with equal measures of wit and angst and thumping along with irresistible rhythms sprinkled with tasty riffs and hooks... why does this sound more culinary than musical?! My terrible writing style, mostly- ah, and haven't eaten yet today. Shall remedy that shortly, but wanted to congratulate you first on some great work!
Can't wait to hear the others in the coming weeks.
Rock. On.
