Up and coming singer/songwriter Hensley, is well on his way to gaining attention. The ones who have heard of him know his music and talk about it, and the ones who haven't, soon will.
Hensley started writing music in 1993 at the age of 15. His first instrument was the piano which led him to the guitar. "I feel personally that the base of each song starts with those instruments, and then you can build on that from there, by either taking something away or adding something else." says the singer/songwriter. He has been compared to some of the greatest...such as Jeff Buckley, U2, Coldplay, Radiohead, and Muse. His vocals are angelic and his music is captivating and uplifting.
The best way to describe Hensley's music is, each song is like a story of its own. For instance, "Beautiful" is about a desired love recovered by grace, "Hollow" is a quiet surrender acquired by faith, "Shout" is a victorious sound that never shakes, "Beyond" talks about a joyful noise that keeps you awake, "Helicopter" is a vision of our future pleading to surrender, "Greenlights" is a shining light flashing the signs of life, and "Follow" is about a moment of truth that still keeps you alive." These are just some of the songs on Hensley's debut album titled "Beyond" and they have the power to inspire many.
No one can doubt that Hensley is on the rise to being respected and admired by this generation for the heart and passion he puts into his music.

I met steven about 7-8 years ago, when he first came to cali, he was staying with the family of a close friend in san diego. He showed up with a bag of clothes, his guitar, and a dream. Ironically i think it was the same guitar he was using when i saw him on the craig ferguson show. I dont know if he remembers me, We were in my freinds front porch in san diego, he played for us for hours, over a cold frappuccino on a hot san diego summer night. He had a lot of material, i remember thinking wow did you compose all this? it was very deep music. His story is amazing, he started literally from the bottom, he didnt have a lot of money, didnt have a place to live and he worked his way up. Now i hear hes swimming in cash, has a hit album, married a model/actress and lives in a kick ass pad in LA. And to think i once knew him hehe but he deserves it, His story is truely inspirational and i am proud to have known him when he was bearly starting out.
