About me:
E.ly’.si.um: a place or condition of ideal happiness
•.
MISSION:
The Art of Elysium, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1997, encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. We provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines: acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.
VISION:
The Art of Elysium is dedicated to enriching the lives of artists and critically ill children. We believe that there is a powerful and mutual exchange of hope and appreciation that occurs when artists share their time and talent with children battling serious medical conditions.
The lives of these children are largely filled with suffering, loneliness, fear and regimen. Artists have the unique ability to help children in need find a creative voice and discover a sense of individuality and self-efficacy, even in the midst of overwhelmingly difficult circumstances. In return, those same artists, who have been taken outside of their normal scope of work, are stretched and enriched in ways they never imagined.
Through this inimitable exchange between artist and child, the artist experiences the power of giving and the child experiences the power of their own artistic journey.
Who I'd like to meet: CALLING ALL ARTISTS:
If you are an ACTOR, ARTIST, COMEDIAN,DJ, FASHION DESIGNER, HAIR STYLIST, MAKEUP ARTIST, MUSICIAN, PHOTOGRAPHER, STYLIST or WRITER that is interested in volunteering with The Art of Elysium in our hospital programs please visit our website or contact us directly here on myspace.
GOALS:
• Create The Art of Elysium Centers Nationwide, a place where children can learn and artists can showcase their work. During the day, the center will be open for children in need to be taught acting, art processes, comedy and music. In the evening, the facility will be used for participating artists to present their various art forms.
• Provide musical instruments, compact discs, videotape, art supplies and makeup for various children’s facilities in the areas we service.
• Fulfill special requests for the children including, but not limited to, providing tutoring programs for children desiring specific lessons within the arts and continuing lessons with children even after they are discharged or moved.
PROGRAMS:
The Art of Elysium Children’s Programs are founded on the belief that the arts have the potential to make a wide-reaching and beneficial impact on ill children.
Access to artistic experiences helps distract pediatric patients from the difficulties and anxieties they may face, while caring guidance from adult artist-mentors encourages and facilitates mastery of skills, increases self-esteem and promotes healthy development in spite of medical challenges.
All the while, sharing of the creative process in such critical settings teaches both patient and artist the many ways in which the arts are a vitally important part of community well being.
By combining the expertise of working artists, psychologists, clinical arts therapists and child development specialists, The Art of Elysium provides a broad range of creative arts experiences that support patients and families during periods of illness or hospitalization, while simultaneously responding to the identified needs of medical establishments.
The Art of Elysium partners with hospitals and healthcare facilities to:
• Provide creative, interactive workshops and individual
experiences free of charge.
• Offer arts and entertainment programming for special events
• Assist with the provision of arts-related materials, services.
• Facilitate on-going instruction in the fine and performing arts to specially referred pediatric patients.
Through the Art of Elysium Programs, Artists and Volunteers have the opportunity to work with children, adolescents and families in inpatient and outpatient environments. They may have the chance to work with a small or large group of children in a playroom or outpatient setting as well as the opportunity to work with one or two children at bedside or in a smaller identified workspace.
"What you believe is what you bring into this world" -ancient proverb
C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Salvador Dali, Raphael Sanzio, Steven Spielberg, John Ford, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Richard Wagner, Miles Davis... all these great artists and more have shaped what has become our reality by what they believed. The myths of our times and days gone by are created by the artist in a response to society to fulfill a void of meaning in our culture and sealing by creative efforts the gaps with purpose just as real as the earth we stand on or more so for it touches our soul before the earth can touch our feet. Our dreams are sacred because they come from all of mankind, we are one tribe constantly joining our hopes and dreams in one universal tribal chant. God bless all the artists who have served as shaman of the cherished calling to inspire...to believe and make the spirit whole. One must also think of this statement as an artist, one must not limit the boundaries...it can also be found in how adults shape the actions of children, how the example of one adult affects another and then a group. It is God's personal touch on earth, it is imagination...and it is real or it would never speak through canvas, sing through music or turn the pages within or walk among us.
How are you doing? [I hope u are fine & u are having
a good summer time...]
I wanted wish to you a day full of imagination....
cause imagination is more important than knowledge & besides- knowledge is
limited....but imagination encircles the world....[!]
anyway, stay always curios, cause it has its own reason
for existing....

Hey^^ Have a charming day & some fun^-^:be creative- cause creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun...... ~”Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun.., be crazy.., be weird... Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect..; just be an excellent example of being human.”~ Anthony Robbins Much <3 & take care.. -[Vicky]-
heLLo ..How
are you doing???[I hope you are doing well]...Have a stunning & gorgeous
week-end [!!!] & forget about work days worries, cause what's the use of
worrying?..It never was worth while so, pack up your troubles
in your old kit-bag, .. and
smile, smile, smile. (George Asaf).. ~Smile and
others will smile back. Smile to show how transparent, how candid you are.
Smile if you have nothing to say. ..Most
of all, do not hide the fact you have nothing to say nor your total
indifference to others. Let this emptiness, this profound indifference shine
out spontaneously in your smile. ~ (Jean Baudrillard)& don’t forget to
smile about bad jokes[lol] ..Much <3 & take care [!]..
