"catchy and thought provoking tunes. " - The Hampshire Chronicle
"they combine a strong presence with a knack for those perfect, potentially timeless, tunes." - Soho Strut
"The Ashbies are a shining new talent with a standard of songwriting and performance that totally belies their years." - The Month
"All of this technical ability and love for songwriting is topped off by the sheer exuberance of the live performance." - MusicRiot
The four of us have returned from our travels and are back in the rehearsal room. We are looking at 2009 as a fresh start in which to explore our songs, new and old, in a clearer and more emotive way. New arrangements, melodies and grooves have already emerged since returning to our instruments and we have two new (all be it ragged) demo recordings of ‘Angelina’ and ‘Habits of a lifetime’ which you can now listen to here on the site.
We are soon to be performing regular dates around the country and hope to start work on the new album by the spring. With a new manager and the songs all ready to go, we are all extremely inspired by the thought of devoting ourselves entirely to writing and performing songs. We hope for the people that do listen, that they are affected in some way or another for those three or four minutes and wish to continue hearing our music in the future. We will always carry on singing songs for as long as people want to hear them!
