- at a point
where everything is born
and everything dies
all at the same time
- i watch in horror
as before my eyes
a blanket of night
consumes the sky
- a thunderous crash
thru pouring rain
if the sun returns
we’ll be free again
- moths cocoon and
out comes the butterfly
hells freeze and
all of the heavens die
- the stench of electricity
the lightning strikes
an eerie tension builds
in a forced state of night
- all things once held
protective and safe
show their true nature
their evil grinning face
- i stand under a big sky
and i take a deep breath
and i exhale smoke and fire
the Ashes Of Time start to pile
- the storm blind and hungry
with insatiable need
for destruction and chaos
a world on which to feed
- the earth applauds the storm
violently shaking without sound
the trees bow down and tremble
no longer tall and proud
- a stubborn old pine defies the storm
but the tempest is aware of his sin
with an arm of lightning it reaches down
and murders the pine from within
- the once friendly wind
now cold with wicked intent
drives the rain escorts the storm
until its worth is spent
- a fire spreads from the stubborn old pine
fed by the dying breeze
it lifts its head lashing out at the sky
and moves on to the other trees
- i cower below the storm
in a clearing where once stood a home
behind the storm lay miles of ruin
a wasteland when its all said and done
- dying flames lick at the ground
but to no avail
the wind their fuel has left them
drenched in the rain that fell
- i stand under a big sky
and i take a deep breath
and i exhale smoke and fire
the Ashes Of Time start to pile
- our civilization in ruins
and the wilderness never quite the same
but the sun shall soon return
and we’ll be free again
- as i sob to the ground of my loss
it stills as if to listen
the trees stand up embarrassed
their tears on the grass glisten
- the clouds are stubborn
and stay for a while
but alone they are harmless
and flee from my victorious smile
- now the wounds the wounds
they’re long gone
but the scars the scars
they remain
- they’re right here to remind me
of where in this hell i’ve been
but i don’t know the end
its no friend of mine
- i stand under a big sky
and i take a deep breath
and my dreams quickly fade to horrible nightmares
and the Ashes Of Time start to pile
