Thought up in 2008, formed in 2009!
When The Kindred split in early 2008, it quickly became common knowledge that it wasn't the end for two of the founding members of the group. With their love of punk rock and making music still alive, they regrouped with a new drummer, Kenny from local band and friends "Rogue", and a new guitarist , Craig, who adds a metal edge to the punk sound along with a fresh outlook to create a new set of invigorated songs and the same high level of enthusiasm.
The new music of The Assault blends the spirit of punk rock with the energy of hardcore, in the tradition of bands such as The Unseen, Casualties, Agnostic Front, Madball and Metallica. The songs are fast and heavy, with social and political issues high on the lyrical agenda.
At it's heart, The Assault is four guys doing what they love doing. An outlet for our passion, our unresolved desire to make music. And if it's something you enjoy, then you're welcome to come along for the ride.
