After starting out as the product of one boy’s run about in the park with some of his indie music heroes The Asthmatic Scene have, like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, gained, and lost, companions as they have skipped along their wheezy journey. A journey they have taken with better shoes, shorter skirts, and some songs about football, cats and the aged. They introduced themselves with their lovely little “be seen” e.p last year and gained radio airplay throughout the world with their sweet stories of growing old, doubting others love and puppet making; all told over a soundtrack of wonderfully jangly indie pop.
This year they aim to capture some more of the quirky energy of their live shows on record. Thus allowing the world to be cleanly obscene with their little scene in the comfort of their own homes. Ultimately they hope to have their music immortalised in a piece of football pitch coloured vinyl and their unusual range of unusual bodies immortalised in cardboard cut-outs somewhere in Japan. That’s not too much to ask. Is it?
Apologies for being spammy, but just to let you know that myself and
the Pope proudly announce the release of my second album, Murder Music (featuring David Hoyle and Pianofingers),
out now on Cherryade Records.

you'll spunk your pants. Ste McCabe is authentic and brilliant." - Boy
