BAND BIOG
After a random meeting a one year ago; on Brighton Beach. Laurence England (guitar, singer, song writer) and Ali Tupman (drummer) formed The Astonishing, possibly the most inflated band name in the history of mankind.
A pair, with virtually no previous history of musical talent began to jam. Shortly after, other like minded inexperienced musicians and wanna-be musical creators began to show up.
These firstly included Lawrence Elwick (harmonicist): Shortly after, Mark Glasby (pianist) and Simon Neen (bassist) joined the fold, which resulted in the full band. This full band were gradually broken down by the lead singer's painful shyness and age-worries. However the artist in him conquered.
People moved on and now only three of the finest now remain, Loz on vocals/guitar, Ali on drums and Lawrence Elwick on Harmonica.
Hi Laurence. Good luck at the BL gig. If you are at the launch party next Tuesday look out for me. Heels Catch Fire are a great indie math rock combo and they are playing at my Children in Need fundraiser on Nov 13 at Hove Town Hall + Xanthus, The Curst Sons & The Ben Poole Band. Wicked line up if I say so myself. Tickets about to go on sale for a mere £4.
