The Atomic Blues are a power trio formed in the fall of 2005 out of Lawrence, Kansas. Thomas Ashe plays guitar and sings lead vocals, David Liston plays drums and sings back-up vocals, with Nick Blessing plays bass and sings vocals. In the fall of 2009, The Atomic Blues signed with independent record label Red Hot Records.
Citing a balance of influences that include Van Halen, Kansas, The Who and many others, the power trio’s sound could be described as progressive rock, although better described as a rock band with a radical flare. Listeners should come expecting rock and leave exhausted from the high energy show.
These three power musicians agree on creating powerful music with no holds barred. This led to birth to The Atomic Blues. Now, as the power trio develops into a full-fledged force of nature, they find their sound laying waste to all things establishment and allowing hard, stiff rock ‘n’ roll to take the reins. Their unique sound powers the turntables into rotation, all the while making mommy and daddy lose the hair on the back of their heads. If the radio doesn’t make your shit shake, The Atomic Blues are the poison for you.
