jimi hasket and rozz rezabek started the band in 1981 and weathered enough personell changes over the years to fill madison square garden with former members...they did at thier reunion show in 1999(just kidding..i will list all the wonderful musicians when its not the middle of the night as i am tired and dont want to forget any of the fine people that made this band shine...I guess first I would mention punk legend brian wassman on drums, the fabulously fashionable lesli arbuthnot on keyboards, and the equally fashionable james wallace on bass... there was also the unbelievably heavy bass lines of mark sten(oblivion seekers) or Cleavers alum jay goins...kevin jarvis(the odds)pounded the skins for awhile.Of course the prodigy Robert o'hearn(missing persons) tickled the keys for awhile. dan brandt and the cheek brothers sat in on horns and keys.damon brothers played drums awhile..so did chuck arjavac(canadian tour).steve "I'll buy" koster filled in on bass more times than i can remember....more to be named ..i think i should do a theatre of sheep family tree...if you know any of the many young bands who opened for us ..please encourage them to email me.. i want to assemble a chronology of the new wave explosion in the eighties (at its zenith) in a avante garde cinematic masterpiece.. over the last month its became clear from this myspace site that THEATRE OF SHEEP will never die, so i might as well go with it..you cant fight nostagia..theres a cd title"YOU CANT FIGHT Nostalgia....
Influences
anorexia, valley of the dolls,post-teenage angst, bizarre love triangles, lace, and lots and lots of piper-heidsick champagne..for awhile there i would get up in the morning, go pee and grab a fresh bottle from the fridge and drag it back to bed with me and my lover..fucked up and freshly fucked by 11 am..then it was time for THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS..a huge influence,..i rarely missed y&r in the fabulous 80's...MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE i was influenced by a turbulent personal life that twisted me up into this rail thin freaked out drama queen struggling to keep my weight above 130 pounds..
Sounds Like
a carload of jocks once screeched by me in a muscle car (while i was putting up one of our fabulous posters on a local corner) and yelled "THEATRE OF SHEEP?..YOU SHOULD BE CALLED THEATRE OF SHIT"
SO
if you dont get it or you werent there for the phenomenom;
IT SOUNDS LIKE..SHIT
theres only two kinds of music...
good music ..and shitty music
good music ..is the music you like...
shitty music..is the music you dont like....
to people who liked the band it was very good music and to everyone else...well it was pretty much..THEATRE OF SHIT........................................................for more of my varied musical expiermentation see myspace music site ALLEY OF THE DOLLS..OR...myspace music site ROZZ REZABEK....I have also purchased and secured ALLEYOFTHEDOLLS.COM and ROZZEZABEK.COM as domain names outside of myspace but have yet todo anything with them....
Related sites are http://www.rozzrezabek.com and THE REZABEK LOG"(which is a non-music blog sitE..and there is also a site of very old(1977) punk recordings at SOME OF MY SATELLITE JUKEBOX SITES..jump there from "the rezabek log" myspace...this site went up september7,2006...2009 is here and Facebook is up too
excess and greed, take more than you need, that was are creed in the reagan years
and if i wasnt so lazy I'd be..martin scorcese
comparing apples and oranges,..soap operas and holy water
theres more, theres more theres always more..your secrets safe with me
am i still the rotten apple of your biblical eyes?
drama..high drama..there was always a whirlwind of that around t.o.s.
i thought i was above the flesh..time flies when you're falling down
i could quote the verses of the psychobabble dictionary that plays out in my mind .while the sane sleep safely..in thier warm suburban beds.. smug and confortable..I wrestle with goth thoughts like"the awesomeness of the dark void of nothingness shall embrace us all one day like a tragic beckett play"..shakespeare said all the worlds a stage..if all the world is a stage we are a THEATRE OF SHEEP. youll have plenty-o-time to sleep when yer dead.stay up late tonight...more to come..oh that right Im supposed to use a bunch of polysyllabic hyperbole to tell ya how bitchin' my band was..hmmmmm..you tell me.................all i can really say is for alot of people it was more of a lifestyle...we lived hard and partied harder..lets fuck tonight like theres no tommorrow.. and our mantra,"I wanna be lovely.."and we damn well were. .fuck the haters...they still dont get it
"we are the lucky ones coz...
we are the only ones...
we are the bright white lights...
we are these empire nights...
the brave and lonely ones...
the celebrated few...
oh no, theres not enough for everyone...
if there was just enough for me and you..
wouldnt it be LOVELY?

Hey TOS, Rozz, Jimmy, etc. in an expression of love and appreciation for all the memories that you have given us, I just bought "Old Flames" on iTunes. Awesome to find you there. Just thought I would let you know.
thank you for your music, ToS! you guys realy talented.. so when i come home in the evening and listen ToS.. i see the sunshine behind the top of trees and listen, for example, "Trouble in red" or "Nacreous caberet", at this several minutes i feel like everything in world is good and my soul on paradise :) so thanks! ) you're great !
"Dangerzone" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and recorded. I love the start and the first verse especially, it puts me in some kind of emotion I cannot describe with words, but it feels great. Keep on rocking! :-)
