The Audio Design Workshop was established in 2001 by John Pearson and Nik Harrison. Aside from being a fully working studio for undertaking sound design work and recording, it was also set up to function as a studio/label for Turquoise Noise, Ensemble Craft, and NHP (Nik Harrison Project). For the first four years it offered a range of professional audio products and services including mobile recording, recording film sound on location, preparation and production of educational resources, score preparation, medium transfer, audio restoration, CD duplication, bespoke preamps, studio ergonomic technology, and studio power distribution and management systems. In April 2005, all other project work was scaled back to concentrate on developing the three projects: Turquoise Noise, Ensemble Craft, and NHP. Recordings are available through the Audio Design Workshop website (currently offline, but should be back very soon). Where the development of Turquoise Noise, Ensemble Craft, and NHP has become a priority, the ADW does still undertake some other project work for clients, and the studio remains commited to producing high quality audio products and services.
