We are happy to announce that the latest addition to the Do The Dog Music stable of bands is fast rising Nottingham based outfit Jimmy The Squirrel!
Together sine 2005, this 5 piece crew kick out a raw & rootsy, stripped down ska/reggae vibe in the vein of Chris Murray, Bedouin Soundclash & The King Blues.
Their highly infectious sound boasts heartfelt, soulful vocal harmonies underpinned by killer old school keyboard melodies & spaghetti westernesque guitar licks!
Due out soon on Do The Dog Music is Jimmy The Squirrel’s debut 4 song self titled CD EP.
You can check out one of the tracks from the EP, "Music We Throw", on the Do The Dog Music Myspace page at www. myspace. com/dothedogmusic & also the other 3 EP tracks, "This One’s For You", "Two Too Many" & "Seat Up High", plus 2 live Jimmy The Squirrel videos at www. myspace. com/jimmythesquirrel

We’ve all sworn at the Radio because of the manufactured dross they keep
playing us, we’ve all wondered why some songs make the charts and other
don’t. But without a substantial promotional budget it’s not easy. So
here’s an opportunity to put one over the radio stations and the big record
companies who dictate what we listen to.
Don’t think that you can’t make a difference or help because it doesn’t
take that many people to start making an impact.
Just so you know how few people it takes to put a record in the charts here
are some figures from 2 weeks ago: The 200th song sold 510 copies, yes only
510 copies! The song at No.175 only sold 583 copies. At No.125 a mere 839
copies and to reach No.100 you only had to sell 1171 copies of your single,
be it a download or an actual CD.
We can do this with your help, 5 minutes of your time and approx £1, that’s
all it will cost you to download ‘Sunday Drivers’ the latest single from
‘Magic Skool Bus’ Released on 14/05/07. We want to sling this single into
the charts out of nowhere and make everyone think ‘what happened there,
where did that come from and how did it happen?’
Lets have some fun, it's well withing our grasp to do this and you can play
a part in it.
The single is available from numerous download sites including itunes but
if it isn't on your usual download site here are some links where it is:
