Influences
The Bad Animals are a Tribute to the Band Heart. We have been influenced by all music, and perform the music of Heart for the love of the songs. Their music is timeless and emotional, and something you don't find alot of in todays music. Our individual influences vary per player.
One of the most powerful and cutting edge female fronted rock acts of the 70's and 80's was the band HEART. Ann and Nancy Wilson set the standard for future female artists, opening the door for women to be a part of a predominately male run music business, and creating some of the greatest and most recognized songs in music history.
Recreating the passion and power of an institution like HEART isnt an easy task for a tribute band, which probably explains why there are less than a dozen Heart tributes currently working in the United States. The Bad Animals are one of the select few that capture the raw energy of a live HEART concert.
Hailing from Minnesota, The Bad Animals are made up of 6 of the most accomplished, award winning, and recognized musicians from the region: Bobby Sue Jones on lead Vocals, Joelle Negaard on guitar & Lead Vocals, Tim Davis on drums, Aaron Carlson on Bass and Vocals, and Leni DiMancari on Guitar and Vocals.
Taking on the task of recreating a band like HEART takes incredible musicianship, and the members of the Bad Animals have previously laid down their own history on the Minnesota music circuit.
In concert, the band is incredible, with Bobby Sue covering the power of Ann Wilson and Joelle capturing the subtle and softer side of Nancy Wilson, creating breathtaking harmonies.
Their show spans 3 Decades of Multi platinum HEART Music, performing their Chart Topping Singles, Rock Classics and Arena Rock Power Ballads. The Bad Animals have been dubbed one of the hottest Tribute bands on the circuit, and give an energetic performance capturing the Power and Energy of HEART.
The Bad Animals were nominated for a Minnesota Music Award for Best Tribute Band and Best Cover Band in 2006 by the Minnesota Music Academy. Currently the Bad Animals are on the the 'Wild Angels' Tour.

Tell me what it is you're thinking if you're still deep inside believing, that all of the wasted nights you've now spent alone, were only being shared with whom you were dreaming, and the countless nights you spent staring at the phone. Share with me this endless vision so through my open heart I can now be there to listen, it's your own decision to be guided by this blind ambition, or remain there doing nothing but sitting there all alone and constantly wishing. Everyone holds deep inside all of the answers to the questions that we never seem to find, and after all, as we build our own walls, it's our smiles that always get left behind. It's time you start to realize that through everyone else’s eyes, you're as beautiful as the wings of a delicate little Butterfly, as it spreads it's lovely wings while flying towards the sky.... Believe that you are a connoisseur whose knowledge of love can open any door, and soon you'll find yourself smiling, and you'll be lonely never more.... ~Nick Nichols~
"The dream within you"
Within our smiles we close our eyes and wish for all of our dreams to come true, when all along as you looked in the mirror the dream has always been you. So when you open your eyes and look up to the skies, take a good look at the world all around you, for it should come as no surprise, just like the sun every morning will certainly rise, it's something you should have already knew, now it‘s all up to you.... ~Nick Nichols~
Good evening my lovely friend, thanks for the beautiful images as well as the kind words that you left as comments to adorn my world.... Many smiles to you always, I hope you enjoy both of the poems.... :) ~Nick~
I watch the colorful leaves as they dance the autumn breeze, seemingly unaware of the up and coming freeze. They seem so happy and so content as they hang out with the other trees. I wonder if they are looking back at me, and if so, what do you think they see? They seem so alive, so passive, yet so free, not concerned about tomorrow, or their life's destiny. Soon their branches will release them, floating away into the air, not knowing the fate that awaits them, leaving them lonely, cold, and scared. Now that the branches are alone, cold, and bare, with seemingly nothing left for them to share, I come back to this place quite often, letting them know how much I still care. ~Nick Nichols~
“Somehow Touch And Feel”
Dream, dream along with me, don't be afraid of what you are feeling, don't be afraid of what your watering eyes can't see.... For I am here, and sense your inner thoughts to be real, so let go of this frustration that I believe you now feel, and I'll guide your imagination to a vision you can somehow touch and feel.... Believe, believe beyond what you believe your eyes can see, don't be afraid of the truth for which you speak, don't be afraid to search for your destiny.... If serenity is really what you believe you now seek, then believe in yourself and you'll find your true identity.... For I am here, and I sense your inner thoughts to be real, so let go of this frustration that I believe you now feel, and I'll guide your imagination to a vision you can somehow touch and feel.... Drift away, drift away now that your lonely heart's been set free, don't be afraid to believe in the beauty that now your open eyes can see, don't be afraid of the smiles that surround you, because one of them might be me, one of them might be me, maybe it's always been me, you just had to open your pretty eyes to have the chance to see, that maybe one of them was
Looking back on this special day, trying not to let any tears get in my way, I will always know why this special day is simply called Mother’s day. It’s a celebration of all life, and can you think of a prettier month to honor all of the Moms everywhere with. Mom’s that are still here with us as well as our Mom’s that are now gone, honoring them in the beautiful month of May, only needing their smiles to be remembered by their endless love that was or still is, always being portrayed. When ever you need someone close to your heart to hear you speak or just to hear you and hold you tight as you cry, a Mom will be their for you to listen without even needing to know the question as to the reasons why. Their love to their Children is always such an unconditional love, warring invisible wings as if they came from somewhere so beautiful and so peaceful, where there’s only thoughts of endless love. With their wings always around us to help in trying to be always protecting us, their love could have only come from Heaven, a place somewhere way beyond the stars up above, and so many out there forget to let them know just how they feel while they still can while they‘re still here alive and with us. So many forget to show them and tell them how grateful we are and how thoughtful they are and always seem to be, even when their own heart’s inside and their own souls appear to be crying, they still always wipe away their tears so they can find a way to help us to once again forget about all of our own pain inside so that we can dry our tears and once again find ourselves grinning and smiling. We can now once again open our own eyes and see, let alone, have the chance to once again smile because thanks to our Moms, we’re once again pain free, and as happy as can be…. Have a great weekend and enjoy your day.... I hope you like the poem, many smiles to you as well, ~Nick~
I look to you when I need to find away to let my inner feelings show, when words are rushing quietly through my mind like a beautiful river as it flows. Holding you in my arms I move my fingers up and down your neck, I plug you in just to turn you on while deciding on the perfect effect. Finding within us the message to awaken their awaiting senses, while making them believe they're walking through lush green meadows, maybe being surrounded by little white fences. As I touch and move your strings you respond with the magic of your caressing sound, inspiration is lending itself from every direction, only needing me to be aware of what we together may have found. Speak to me easy my six string image of beauty, let me hear yet another dream that will share someone else's weight that they alone are still trying to carry.... ~Nick Nichols~ Have a great day my lovely friends, enjoy the poem I wrote.... Many miles of smiles to you, ~Nick~
