The Baggot Inn opened in 1996 as an intimate alternative to the rock rooms of the East Village and even the tourist spots around the block on Bleecker Street. Now closed after 12 years The Baggot Inn provided a showcase room for some of the finest players of bluegrass, r & b, indie rock, folk in NYC.
Today is the May 12th and I just now got the news that you're closing on May 10th. Is it rent? zoning? licencing? If you can't stay there can you relocate to Bklyn or Staten Island? Relocation would suck but it's better than shutting down all together. If this truly is the last of the Baggot Inn, I will miss it. I frequented frequently... Just not frequenly enough to know how abrupt the closing would be.

What's happening? I just wanted to get the word out that Last months gig went so well that I'm springing up with another one at the same place, this Friday January 25th at 10:oopm at Googies Lounge, which is upstairs from the Living Room, 154 Ludlow in between Stanton and Rivington on the Lower East Side. I'm playing just after the Wild Deer who start at 9:00. It's going to be a great line-up. There's no cover and no drink minimum, just solid music.
