Sounds Like
The bag of spanners st paddy's night 2007 at the Angler's - the beer festival, filmed & recorded by a drunk just under & behind the right PA, & too near the drum muppets, so not as balanced a sound as one would wish, but gives a flavour of the gig......................... www.soul-trade.com/spanners.html
"Initially conceived in a caravan high on the Pennine moors, then distilled and fermented in fair Furness, the epicentre of the Spanners is the village of Haverthwaite, nestling in the Leven Valley at the arse-end of Lake Windermere.
Fronted by a right pair of wallers, the Spanners specialise in writing 21st century SCumbrian folk songs in the manner of Ewan MaColl, delivered with the brashness, energy and aggression of the Pogues, resulting in a manic concoction of folk/punk/pop guaranteed to make the rafters roar.
BAG OF SPANNERS - part of YOUR Lakeland experience."
Album NOW THEN .........
"Daring to say what others only think, they roar through some familiar trd and witty originals, trashing any not into the cult of the individual or green causes. Seems pretty sound to me" Froots Mag.
"Mixing jaunty tradition with contemporary themes, politically informed yet never harbouring delusions of grandeur. Cracking stuff" NW Evening Mail.
"Goddam them all" george dubya bush......
