Initially conceived in a caravan high on the Pennine Moors, then distilled and fermented in fair Furness. The epicentre of the Spanners is the village of Haverthwaite, nestling in the Leven Valley at the arse-end of Lake Windermere.
Fronted by a right pair of wallers, the Spanners specialise in writing 21st century SCumbrian folk songs in the manner of Ewan MaColl, delivered with the brashness, energy and aggression of the Pogues, resulting in a manic concoction of folk/punk/pop guaranteed to make the rafters roar.
