Jesus H. I can never think of influences when i need to. Let's see........why don't we get all the obvious ones out of the road first. THE WHO, THE STONES, MC5, THE STOOGES, LED ZEP, BEATLES, THE SONICS, BOWIE, VELVET
UNDERGROUND, AND ALL THAT USUAL SHIT. Also, SPENCER P. JONES, ROSS MCLENNAN, THE BASTARDS, FLIPPER, CHROME CRANKS, THE PIXIES, THE DRONES, X(AUS) X(U.S)BLACK FLAG, HOWLIN' WOLF, PERE UBU, THE REMAINS, ELVIS COSTELLO, ROBERT JOHNSON, THE NAZZ, THE NEW CHRISTS, JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, THE SCIENTISTS( KIM SALMON) GUN CLUB, TOM WAITS, SOLEX, THE SPLATTERHEADS, THE WIPERS, MUDDY WATERS, LEADBELLY, BUSTA RHYMES, OL' DIRTY BASTARD, FUNKEDELIC, THELONIOUS MONK, SONIC YOUTH...AND SO FORTH. I'm not an afficionado of all these artists, but some of them have the qualities I aspire to or I have imbued (I think) THE BAKELITE AGE with.
........................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................... ..................With members from such diverse bands as THE MEANIES, THE EGOS, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, DUNG, ROSS MCLENNANS WISHBONE KNEES, THE CYCLONES, SISTER RAY, GOLDEN SHOWER, THE BREADMAKERS, SHUTDOWN 66
and THE CURLY WURLYS, you'd expect THE BAKELITE AGE to sound like a dogs breakfast...but NO....they don't........sound like a dogs breakfast. They sound like a chicken and champagne breakfast....that is..if you were to substitute Chorizo for chicken and Sangria for champagne.
..Yeah, We're on

Nah, I fully intend on STARTING the gang war myself, and just watching in amusement from the sidelines :D But pretty soon we shall be official Melbourne-ites, just waiting for my bassist to follow my lead and get his arse down here to Melbourne (like he talked ME into doing)!!!
Well, I must say I'm honoured to have been acknowledged by the one and only Link! I've caught you and the Meanies doing your thing a couple of times (both in Brisbane, come to think), but have hardly seen any live music since moving to Melbourne (livin' cheap in a hostel will do that to ya). But shall have to get off and my arse and catch this other band o' yours sometime, was kind of intrigued when I noticed you were on Spooky Records, didn't think the Meanies exactly had "that" sound, but after finally have a good listen to this Bakelite stuff must say I'm very impressed with how different the sound is. I only hope that having a guitar strapped to you in this band doesn't stop you rolling around on the floor like the fucking lunatic you are...
