Jesus H. I can never think of influences when i need to. Let's see........why don't we get all the obvious ones out of the road first. THE WHO, THE STONES, MC5, THE STOOGES, LED ZEP, BEATLES, THE SONICS, BOWIE, VELVET
UNDERGROUND, AND ALL THAT USUAL SHIT. Also, THE BASTARDS, FLIPPER, CHROME CRANKS, THE PIXIES, THE DRONES, X(AUS) X(U.S)BLACK FLAG, HOWLIN' WOLF, PERE UBU, THE REMAINS, ELVIS COSTELLO, ROBERT JOHNSON, THE NAZZ, THE NEW CHRISTS, JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, THE SCIENTISTS( KIM SALMON) GUN CLUB, TOM WAITS, SOLEX, THE SPLATTERHEADS, THE WIPERS, MUDDY WATERS, LEADBELLY, BUSTA RHYMES, OL' DIRTY BASTARD, FUNKEDELIC, THELONIOUS MONK, SONIC YOUTH...AND SO FORTH. I'm not an afficionado of all these artists, but some of them have the qualities I aspire to or I have imbued (I think) THE BAKELITE AGE with.
We have ze album in our hands. It's called "Return of the Magical Molerat" and you can hear a sample here in the tracks "Good Love(in the eye of a hurricane)" and "Feast of the Porcupines"
........................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................... ..................With members from such diverse bands as SNOUT, THE MEANIES, THE EGOS, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, DUNG, ROSS MCLENNANS WISHBONE KNEES, DAN BRODIE AND THE BROKEN ARROWS, GOLDEN SHOWER, THE BREADMAKERS, SHUTDOWN 66
and THE CURLY WURLYS, you'd expect THE BAKELITE AGE to sound like a dogs breakfast...but NO....they don't........sound like a dogs breakfast. They sound like a chicken and champagne breakfast....that is..if you were to substitute Chorizo for chicken and Sangria for champagne.
