“A rampaging gaggle of funkified love-children, triumphantly
smearing their unique blend of ‘neo-orgasmic-sould-funk-jungle-
party-core’ across the mental genitals of all those who hop
aboard their party train”.
“An orgy of hedonistic cretins who wrangle like bavarian game
hunters the sounds of booty-shaking-funk-lust, crafting them into
burning soul-swords of badassity, and swinging them uproariously
across the lands of killer fatness and sweet ear love”.
“An immense and burning shaft of bright groove energy that
penetrates into the very depths of your soul, grasping it with full
streangth and remolding it into an 18th century carousel packed
to the brim with giggling children”.
“Modern day answers to the fundamental question plaguing us
all: ‘who are we, and why are we all here?’.
"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
“Melbourne based, The Woohoo Revue are rapidly making a name for themselves around Australia for their huge gypsy sound and flashy act. They are joined by Juke Baritone and the Swamp Dogs for their first show back since raising hell in the UK and Europe.”
Hi there, just a last-minute note to let you know that the Munkle is playing at the underground wonderland that is Qirkz, this Thursday, 3rd September. We're supporting the inimitable Flap! from Melbourne. For those that don't know, Qirkz is an amazing new warehouse space, it's decked out with weird and wonderful trinkets, it's BYO and it's family-friendly... visit qirkz.com for more info. Hope you can make it!
I really enjoyed the show @ The Mac Hotel on the 20th. Came from Bathurst for it, and wasn't disappointed! I hear you guys may be at Peats Ridge festival? If so, sweet! I've got tickets for that. I gave UE from Jumbledat a call a coupla weeks ago, I hope they can make it too.. That'd be heaven for me, having the both of you there!
