Big Red Boat were formed after Jeff (vocals) and long time friend Glenn, aka Groover (band manager, general arse kicker) had been writing material for some time, for what was going to be a solo act. But they soon realised that what they had written together, and individually, would need some back up. Chris and Matt, already friends through other ventures in music, with Jeff and Glenn, were the obvious choices for them, as they knew they would bring their own experiences and influences with them, to form the sound that appeals to a broad ranging audience where ever they play. Koorosh was asked to join them after hearing him jam with someone, in the middle of a water logged field at a local festival. His Jemba and Tabla hand drum skills bring an earthy feel to the acoustic sound. They are also in the process of working with bass player Darren who will hopefully join BRB asap.
While building their set, the band has performed at local fetes and charity events and have travelled to places around the region, playing at open mic and songwriting events at venues such as 'The Steam Boat Tavern' in Ipswich, where they have been made welcome by other song writers and performers. And with gigs and events in the pipe line, this should be a good year for all involved.
Big Red Boat are back at the 'Tides Reach Recording Studios', Lowestoft to complete recording for their debut album, which they are hoping to have ready for release early spring 2009.
Big Red Boat would like to give a special thanks to our friend, trustee and manager Linz, for all her work and efforts to keep us doin what we do. Cheers chic.x

Hey Jeff, good to hear from you. I too am taking time out- just put together a home studio so I am doing some deep learning and recording. Decided to hold off on performing for a while so I can knuckle down and get my production skills up to scratch. Early next year would be good to hook up, just let us know when you are free. Hope you and yours are well? Take it easy bro, J
