ivet formed in late 1995 with an overnight wildfire chemistry, quickly resulting in a series of regional club appearances, which have contributed to the band's current momentum in becoming a sought-after name in the local original music scene. ivet consists of:
Frank Silver - Vocals, Guitar
Mike Roberts - Guitar, Vocals
Scott Ensign - Bass
Mark Grabowski - Drums
Evidenced by live performances which have been described as "tense" and "moody", the band's sound is an introspective, emotional one. The news-of-our-world content of ivet's songs chronicle the trials of adolescence, as experienced in a broken post-industrial city. Musically, the band's sound is that of a testosterone-driven, hard-hitting machine, tempered by a self-analytical sensitivity. This sensitive quality manifests itself in the form of compelling vocal harmonies with a touch of melancholy and despair. This dissatisfied melodic stance in further fueled by brooding, desolate lyrics...
Ivet garnered two major label offers off the success of their second release ‘sickhouse’. That release shot up the national CMJ Charts, peaking in the top 100! Profiles in Alternative Press and Jersey Beat Magazine, a cover story and picture in Unsung Hero Magazine, song usage by Fox Racing Video and ESPN, and two Warped Tour performances kept ivet in the spotlight this past year!
Now embarking on their third full-length release titled ‘subsequent losses’, ivet plans to hit the road in support of this anticipated release. Sharing the stage with ivet have been Jerry Cantrell, Nickelback, Godsmack, Papa Roach, Henry Rollins,The Deftones, and many others. ivet has showcased at CMJ, Millenium, IMF, BOMB, and Undercurrents. ‘failure boy’ ivet’s first cd release, took ‘Album of the Year’ honors from commercial alternative station WENZ-FM.
Thanx for the add. It's good to see you guys are still doing it. My first rock show ever was "ivet" @ Pyatt Street Down Under and the reason I wanted to start a band. In later years, I ended up working with Frank and Mark @ Airborne. Hope you guys are doing okay. Later.
Cadence Grace enters the world on Wednesday, June 14th, 2006
Here be the official announcement that Frank's new daughter joined our company this past Wednesday evening at 7:38pm or so.
She's beautiful, and has the so-called "Silver eyes" as far as I can tell.
Frank seems to be very happy at the development.
I cannot turn my back on you
Although I know I must
Bury every memory
Beneath this shattered trust
The agony within me,
The daggar in my back
I feel the mask Im wearing tearing. How long till I crack?
CAUSE I COULD BE THE ONE WHO FUCKS YOU
WHO BURRIES YOU IN STRYFE
COMMAND THE HAND OF VENGEANCE
AS IT TWISTS ITS BLOODY KNIFE
TO DEAFEN MY COMPASSION
AND SHUT MY MORAL EYES
but should I bring you tears
A brother's ears would hear your cries
i remember several years ago seeing ivet live a few times and they had this song that is not on the first two cds which they would open up with. i LOVED that song and was hoping i would be able to get it with the new cd that was supposed to come out. PLEASE release that CD.I have loved ivet for a long time and promote them whenever possible. i know they probably won't be getting back together anytime soon, but if they did, even for one show, i'd be there yelling FUCK YEAH! release the CD. c'mon. for the fans.

Wow, I may have to WAKE UP IN FLAMES before I TEAR IT DOWN BRING IT HOME. I'm just waiting for MY TURN to hear the sounds of Ivet again. I may ROT like a decaying SOLDIER if they don't get back together. As long as our arms are OPEN WIDE we will welcome them back for another HAND ME DOWN song!
