Royal-T's influences are apparent in the cover songs they play. Favorites from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and today include The Blue Oyster Cult, John Mellencamp, Don McLean, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Violent Femmes, Elvis Presley, Van Morrison, Elton John, Bergie's favorite...The Eagles, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Brooks and Dunn, Lynrd Skynrd, Canned Heat, The Dixie Chicks, The Marshall Tucker Band, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffett, Toby Keith, Ten Years After, Cheap Trick, Pearl Jam, Johnny Lang, Paul Revere and The Raiders, Chubby Checker, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Clash, The Killers, Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, Neil Diamond, The Box Tops, Bryan Adams, and many, many more!
Royal-T has been playing together for more than four years. The seasoned musicians have a loyal following in Rochester playing for local bars, private parties, and benefit events. What makes the band unique is their interaction with fans. Described as "Live Karaoke", Royal-T encourages audience participation and requests. Along with audience microphones, the band also hands out instruments to audience members to keep things rocking! Royal-T has a play list of over 150 cover songs along with a handful of originals including the fan favorite, "I Can't Go On".
The band consists of Bill "Bronco" Rapp on lead guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Mike "Bergie" Young on guitar and lead vocals, Paul Mattson on the drums, Jon Brandt on the bass guitar, Adam Young on the guitar, Erik Mattson on the saxophone, Jackie Olson on the flute and last, but certainly not least, Steve "Scoobs" Skiba as the band's sound technician and backup vocals.
Royal-T also features guest musicians on occasion including Kale Olson on the drums, Tony Miller on the bass guitar, Ken Lynne on the keyboard and vocals, Dave Card on drums, Missy Hagen on vocals, Sarah Egge on vocals, Erik Mattson on sax, and Scotty Krynski on harmonica.
Royal-T would also like to thank their favorite, Missy Pierre, for believing in their music and getting them their first gig. The band would not be where they are today without you, thank you!
