    BOOK & CONTACT INFO: thebanggirlgroup@gmail.com The Bang have had the pleasure of being on the bill with THE HEAVY, FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS & MAGIC CHRISTIAN. The ladies of The Bang guested on backing vocals with legendary Iggy & The Stooges Guitarist James Williamson at his triumphant first gig in thirty years in September 2009. This performance is available by Easy Action Records in the UK. "The Bang" is a bay area band that is working in the true spirit of the 60's female girl group sound. The Bang are not a nostalgia act with beehive hairdo's and over the top costumes, but a group that has established its' own style and identity through the influence of the past and their own individuality. The Bang gives respect and love to the pioneering female vocalists work, focusing on the body of music that was the golden era of female pop (1960-1970). The Bang covers a vast range of girl vocalists from the 60's of Motown, Brill Building, foot stomping soul/ northern Soul, American and British pop, as well as a touch of psychedelia. The Bang performs their own interpretations of tracks from artists such as Martha & the Vandellas, The Ronettes, The Shangri-las to the more obscure gems from well known and lesser known artists that make your hips shake. And, due to some wonderful response from our new fans, The Bang are currently cooking up some original soul songs!!! 3 amazing female vocalists front the group (Rachel Mae Havens, Tish Peterson, & Angeline King), each with their own unique background and voices that bring the sound alive. The Bang also provide a wonderful visual spectacle with their grooving choreography. The ladies are backed by musicians (Derek See, Curtis Meacham, Richard Gutierrez, Jafar Green) who understand the sound and work well dynamically by keeping the voices front and center. The result is a unique rejuvenation of the 60's sound that will sure to please any audience, whether they are soul purists, pop lovers or simply anyone who wants to have a good time enjoying an entertaining band. The Bang are available to provide a full evenings' entertainment when needed; not only can the boys play a warm up set on their own, but all three are excellent DJ's with the ability to entertain a crowd with soul, beat and funky sounds.
