"Filthy, dirty rock and roll" "With a hint of Nick Caves recent Grinderman project"
- dsd review of 'in the city'
"From Brighton with a gentle hailstorm of alternative rock, tattoos and restrained guitar-laden attitude along with a dirty edge and some low-slung rock and roll that takes in bites of Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Billy Idol, The Almighty and several shades of blues based 70’s flavoured alt.punk."

"Brighton bred, hard-hitting,industrial brute force"

"Dirty sleazy alt, rock n roll with a bluesy americana sound reminiscent of Grinderman"
-Source magazine
"Let me introduce you to a new stunning British trio, called 'The Bardo' Throw the nastiest rock'n'roll and blues in a blender, stir well with some brutal industrial and the result is: a damn catchy and explosive cocktail, that will bring you in a rockin', shakin' and headbangin' temper. You're not convinced ? Let me give you some hints: 80's Matchbox B-line disaster..., Grinderman...Billy Idol...."

"The world will always need noisy, messy, rock and roll bands. Enter The Bardo
The Bardo are here to rock, no ballads, no string section, no music for an imaginary film, just rock. Iggy and The Stooges are a major touchstone here with both the production and riffs recalling the classic Raw Power (which is a good thing, Raw Power is the high standard of guitar bad-assery) there are also touches of the turbo charged blues of Grinderman, the mutant rockabilly of 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster and the slightest hint of the heavier parts of grunge like Soundgarden (particularly on the track ‘No Reason To Fight Me’).
This is a nice mix of the messier end of rock and roll classics and they don’t let up the pace."
