"Were what you call a stock on the rise/ song by song build a whole enterprise"
Early years: Every generation throughout Hip-Hop's spectrum has spawned an elite duo, a duo that defies all odds. Two individuals representing one entity, an entity defined by brotherhood rather than a partnership. Like a breath of fresh air to the Hip-Hop community, the Bay Area's own Bash Bros (PISEAS & The L.E.F.T.) arrive to carry the torch. Armed with the freedom fighter spirit of PISEAS & complemented by the fiery flow of LEFTY, this team's combination of yin and yang is best described like a street fighter with a vicious knock out punch.
Piseas and Lefty would first cross paths on a south bay public transit route when Lefty transferred to the junior high where Piseas was attending. Unlike most stories of how people would meet and instantly connect; this was not the case. The duo openly admits to initially not caring for one another. Over time, the day in and day out routine of walking from the bus stop to school would soon bring about a bond that would undoubtedly stand the test of time. Eventually the two would be recording freestyle sessions on a karaoke machine and searching for beats. Consequently they negotiated a deal with the Long Beach native, producer extraordinaire, Style MISIA to solidify their entrance to the game. Together they formed the group New Moon and would follow the "Fuck a demo" tradition of the Bay; going from the 4-track to the block moving units hand-to-hand. New Moon found heavy rotation on college radio leading to appearances on the heavyweight DJ's Davey D's Friday Night Vibe (KPFA) & Kevvy Kev's The Drum (KZSU). Garnering a lot of attention in the Bay Area, New Moon's independently released vinyl debut DEMONSTRATION ran eight consecutive weeks on the Bay Area Hip-Hop coalition's top 25 play list. The record was also able pick up steam on Hip-Hop's international scene, however by the time the group's material was cracking foreign markets the units went out of print and the group was disbanded due to the need for individual growth.
PRESENT: Present day with more than 15,000 units of Bash Bros catalog circulating from the streets to the Internet the name Bash Bros once again signifies a winning team as it did for those familiar with the Oakland A's home run tandem of the late 80's and early 90's. Piseas and Lefty launched their global campaign with the release of the groundbreaking album entitled EVERYDAY. As an album EVERYDAY represented much more than just a musical experience, but served as a soundtrack for those who define themselves through the everyday grind. EVERYDAY went on to move more than 5000 units & spawned two regional hits "America" & "Summer rain". Wasting no time at all the Bash Bros went right back to work releasing the certified street banger 12" "The Session" feat. Planet Asia along with an avalanche of mixtape material that went on to tear shit up on both domestic & international airwaves. Fresh off their 2006 college radio tour & a star-studded appearance on The Third Rail ( breakthruradio.com) which hosts more than 2 million listeners weekly. Bash Bros dropped the indie favorite double album DIRTY WORK / A GOOD DAY TO DIE which received praise from both listeners & critics. The release lead to a feature in Urb magazine's next 1000, a performance feature in Music connection magazine as well as a feature in Front2Back magazine & Itunes indy spotlight to name a few. The first three singles( "the Session" feat Planet Asia, "Comin thru" & "Bang that sh*t" feat. 2mex) off the record continued to crack play lists world wide & lead to featured audio on staple hip hop sites such as hiphopdx, dubcnn, nahright.com as well as a show stealing performance on Internet broadcasted tv vlaze.com(aka Music plus tv). Continuing to feed their propelling street buzz the Bash Bros geared up to drop the "WORKAHOLICS" mixtape with fellow west coast duo Afro Classics (Scarub of the Living Legends & Very) as well as the first single off the highly anticipated 2008 release MAIN EVENT entitled "Rock the Spot" feat. Sean Price, Big Pooh(Little Brother) & DJ Icewater. The single peaked at 3 on rapattack & 2 on record breakers domestic radio charts. The new album which features production from Style Misia & Villa nova who have laced tracks for Chamillionaire, 50 cent, Devin the dude & Trina to name a few is sure to redefine the standard of not only the Bash Bros movement but also the level of indie releases as a whole. Main Event also displays Bash Bros flexing their lyrical skill next to Hip hop heavyweights: Sean Price, Rakaa(Dilated Peoples), Equipto, Reef the lost cauze, Chali 2na(J5) & more. Check Main Event out now & look for Bash Bros to hit the road hard in 2008 & stay productive to ensure that if don't respect nothing else you will respect the hustle!
