Having just received an Arts SA grant to record their debut album The Battery Kids didn’t waste any time getting into the studio. The Debut album ‘We’re Just Hanging While the Rats All Gather and the Vultures Circle Over Head’ is due for release in December 2009! TBK is currently touring all over Australia to promote the forth-coming release, including shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, The Gold Coast, Hobart and Adelaide.
TBK have shared the stage with many successful acts, including packed out shows along side Victorian rockers The Vasco Era and The Whiskey Go Gos. Sydney’s indie act The Holidays. Brisbane’s John Steel Singers and the Rocket Smiths. Adelaide classic bands such as The Hot Lies and Special Patrol etc…
The Battery Kids EP, ‘Requiem For A Nightmare’ released in 2008, received airplay on the almighty national youth radio, Triple J. This year saw TBK release a double single ‘Ghost Town/Waiting For the End of the World’. The single ‘Ghost Town’ reached ranking No. 28 in Three D Radio’s Top 100 for the year, and was featured in the Three D Radio’s ‘Depth Charge’ compilation album. ‘Waiting For the End of the World’ was featured on the Sound Sytes compilation album, sold to raise funds the Royal Institute for the Blind.
