Bear spent three years with the British Special Forces. During this time he had a horrendous parachuting accident whilst in southern Africa and broke his back in three places. Yet two years later, after severe rehabilitation, he overcame the odds to become the youngest British climber ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest and return alive.
His book on this extraordinary story soared into the Top 10 of the Bestseller list. He has since written two further best-selling books and lead numerous other record breaking expeditions. Thanks for the add, but should I dare try and follow MsRandom, she's basically covered everything. Anyway, I love the Man Vs. Wild show, I try to watch as much as possible. Bear is what makes me tune in, if it was anyone else I know I wouldn't watch as much, he is just really entertaining. I will definately be looking for his books. Man Vs. Wild is one of the best things going for Discorvery, it never gets old and you can actually learn something by watching.

Thanks for adding me. I am a big fan of Bear Grylls. Man vs. Wild is one of my favorite shows. I think Discovery has done a very good job filming it, and I give credit to his camera and crew that go with him! I enjoy seeing all the places that Bear travels to around the world, as well as learn from all of the survival skills that he demonstrates. I am impressed with his athleticism, knowledge, and personality. God has really blessed him, and I'm grateful the rest of us benefit from it. I want to do a lot of the things that he does some day, but for now it's great to live vicariously through the show! I pray God blesses Bear Grylls and his family. Thank you for your work! I am not sure if Bear already has done this since I have not read his books yet, but I think it would be great to put important information into a pocket guide for travelers to refer to, and it may even save lives. Again, thanks for everything, and I am a big fan. :)
Hi Bear, in order to catch cicada,I clime the willow today, the tree bark scratched and injuried my arms, I can image how hard job you do! But most unfortunately thing on me was when I climed to the top , they told me the cicadas in the top of tree are not good to eat…
