Bio
The Beat Chefs were separated immediately after birth when their parents divorced. One went with his mother to London, while the other stayed with his father in Napa Valley. During their childhood, they attended summer camp together. After realizing their twin-like similarities they began to share keepsakes and photographs. Each one had half of a photograph of their parent in a wedding. Suddenly after joining both halves, they realized they were sisters... just a couple of young, little redheaded girls showered with freckles. After a failed attempt to reunite their parents by switching places, the two youths remained apart, each one developing their skills in making music and street fighting. They grew up listening to similar sounds and mastering the same fighting style. After many years of training and perfecting their talents, they were once again brought together to seek redemption in a worldwide fighting tournament that would capture the hearts and minds of the children during the 90's. Needless to say, they were together again, and this time for reals! The young men took their music to the tough streets of Madison in an effort to revitalize the withering live music scene. Times were hard and the two had to hustle to feed their daughters (daughters actually being their insatiable desire to keep up with the latest Jordans and super nintendo games). Before long, the duo had established themselves as a successful music group and became notorious for causing revelry and non-stop dance parties. Much like the MC's of their youth, they bring more than just live music. They create the beats, samples, and riffs right in front of their audience. Together, they bring you back the old hits, while blending in new ones and seamlessly bringing in their own music. Their innovative performance and funky grooves have made The Beat Chefs one of the most sought after groups in Madison and the surrounding areas. .. -

Sounds Like
Start with 3-4 cups of beatboxing, mix in a cup of fat bassline, a teaspoon of tambourine, a 1/4 spoonful of handclaps and shakers, add a pinch of melodica, and then mix it all up. Top it off with some acoustic guitar, congas, harmonies and street-wise flow, and enjoy!!
