The Beatcombers have been around since the early 1990’s in one form or another. They are, were, and always will be, a “vintage” rock ‘n’ roll group based on the energy of the Beatles and the Liverpool sound of the 1960s.
Their ethos is not to go down the look-a-like route but simply to present the music. The twist, however, is to play the obscure, the less well known and the rarest of the rare. This little known, yet brilliant material, written and covered by British beat bands of the 1960s, was dusted down and introduced to a modern day audience by The Beatcombers.
The formula was a winner, with the band gaining a cult following as far a field as the US and Japan. Fans recognised that this was not a simple “tribute” band due in no small part to their heroic appearances at selected Liverpool Beatle conventions of the 1990’s where they performed at legendary venues such as The Cavern Club, The Blue Angel and, significantly, the Mathew Street Festival, gaining a reputation as a “must see” act.
The Beatcombers make a much anticipated and welcome return to this year’s Liverpool Beatles convention and they can’t wait to present their new material, set to be recorded for a brand new album later this year.
The Beatcombers signed to Applebeat Records in 2005 and signalled a return to their musical roots with the release of the superb "All Good Things" album in 2006.
This coupled with the recent digital release of their legendary debut album “Eight Arms To Hold You” (both available on i-tunes and other digital outlets), adds up to only one thing:
The Beatcombers are back!
