"Modernism is a way of life, and this Doncaster 3 piece have life sorted. Formed in 2007 (yes May this year) and wearing their combined love of The Jam, The Clash and Stone Roses on their Harrington sleeves the Beaus have produced some formidable tunes already. Listen to Class That Drives The Times or Business Ties and you will start to get a feeling to what their live shows will be like…hot sweaty, dynamic and charming to boot.
Writing from the heart about what they know and love gives the band an edge that promises to put them on your “bands to see live list”. Short sharp bursts of guitar driven and hook ladened pop delivered with so much confidence its scary to think how short a time they have been together."
SLOW2FADE MAGAZINE

"The Beaus - Class That Drives The Times" Brilliant guitar opening. Shocked by the speedy vocal that jumped in, the speed and angst of the vocal seemingly at odds with the melodic guitar. The low key, contrasting vocal was intriguing. Beautiful bass sound.
YORKSHIRE MUSIC COLLECTIVE

"Britpop laid over short sharp blasts of guitar, very good, reminded me in places of Big Audio Dynamite. Both the tunes were refreshing, but on listening to the second track the main influence we could hear coming through was Pulp, or at least Javis Cocker...(what the band think of that we wait with baited breath). It's a neat polished sound, played well, it's up there with all the other bands that make this kind of sound and yeah we liked it plenty..."

2nd June 2008

Back in the studio on tuesday, one step closer kidders......

31st May 2008

It's been a while since anythings been said, but we're playing the waiting game really, when the new mixes are done we'll be free to roam the world like modern rock dinosaurs and take everything.
Essentially we've been holed up in our homes, writing songs or just sleeping, predominatley sleeping, but I have got a bit of a musical gift for you all, when i can realise how to stop accidentally deleting it, and finish it.
We've just been put onto the "Doncaster Live Magazine" vs "Inhaler Records" All Day gig, so cheers to whoever works for the magazine and voted for us as the "youth" bringers, hope to see you all there as there'll be a mint line up, not just the sort that you can enjoy in your mind and not bother turning up to.

So much to say, but so little of it has any substance, Chao chao,
Doya

bbc-beaus
Two new songs finished down here below decks, and hopefully a few top gigs to be announced in a few weeks.
Be at the leopard on the 17th May, to quote Sly and the Family Stone, "there's a riot goin' on"...

Who tread the floorboards so gently
In the dead of the night pushing mindscapes to headcases
Tripping on beats, skipping heartbeats
A bag of bones, but his love's on loan
To the king of the throne, watch the kingdom come
Pull the seams as it seems the scene is in terror
A mild mannered fella
In the red corner
No Killer, No Crowd Pleasing Thriller....

Doya

27th April 2008

Not much communication over the last few days due to the lack of internet, but virgin media will soon save us from the plight of Sky and the dark shadow it's cast over our lives...

In the studio now mixing down some tunes, we'll soon upload some pictures/video of the tune in making and letting you all know who finally won the free Doncaster gig ticket (i think it will be for "The Underground Heroes" gig).

Class That Drives The Times is also free to download for you all, hope you all enjoy that peice of our hearts and minds.....
21st March 2008

Bang! Debut Release almost a ready cannonball, to take on an armada of lazy vessels, empty vessels making too much noise.
There are no captains, just skippers in suits. Sheep in wolves clothing....
21st March 2008

Bosh!
We're getting a bit of ’airtime’ kidders, so have a gander, but in the meantime we’ll be sorting out some more new songs for upcoming gigs.
The Debut Single has now been recorded and is currently being mixed down, it sounds immense to be honest, can’t wait for you barstards to hear it, there be more news on that soon, but in the meantime heres the list of radio shows we’ll be on....

12th March - BBC RADIO 1 - 21:00

13th March - BBC RADIO SHEFFIELD - Raw Talent - 19:00

15th March BBC Radio Humberside 95.9fm DAB - Raw Talent - 20:00

15th March BBC Radio Leeds DAB - Raw Talent - 20:00

All our love, Mitchell, Nickers and Doya

18 Mar 2008

THE BBC RAW TALENT LIVE SESSION GIG IS NOW COMPLETLEY SOLD OUT, SEE YOU ON THE FRONTLINE...

22 Feb 2008

Alright kids and kidettes, just letting you all know we'll be back in the studio next saturday to record for our first proper single/EP. Can't give you details on anything about it yet, but expect a tune that will make your ears bleed (in the good way)....

Until then get yourselves down to the Priory gig where we'll be supporting YETI, or check out our other gigs, one of which is going to be recorded for the BBC......

Peace and monogamous love,
Doya

Jun 13 2008 12:55 PM

Hey guys, just read your bulletin about your vid.

I've had no actual experience just yet in terms of filming, but I'm currently learning at college and for my coursework next year I'm making a music video.

I've got a video camera sitting in my house so if there's anything I can do to help at all just let me know :)

Don't mind at all that you can't offer any pay - it's good experience, and you guys are great anyway :)

cheers!
Glenn Vines
