This is a father-daughter act that has far more depth than one might expect from an emerging family-based band. The music is family friendly but far from cheesy! Each vocalist stands out individually but, when combined, exhibit a musical power and harmonic blend that is as exciting as it is pleasing to the ear.
Jim, aka Beckerjim (www.myspace.com/beckerjim) has been performing professionally for over 30 years throughout the western United States with various bands, notably the Barnburners of Los Angeles from 1985-1993 - which was featured on KLOS 95.5 Best of LA Local Licks and on KDGE 95.1 The Best of Texas CD. The Barnburners of Los Angeles' release "Wish You Blue" has been re-released this month on iTUNES on the Foggy Idea Music independent label. In 2007, Beckerjim released "Attack of the Panic Button", and the single "Bail Me Out" in October 2008 which was featured the LA Times Business Blog. This spring, Jim has just completed a dual album project to be released this spring on iTUNES titled "Unprotected" and "Living Black'n White".
It doesn't stop there. Jamie is the youngest Becker at 14 and is currently working on her first solo album - completely composed by her talented self. Sister Serena (19) joins in occasionally, if she can tear herself away from her studies at UC Berkeley. She is a singer/songwriter in her own right and has recently created her first musical myspace with 3 brand new tunes just written and recorded in Jim's studio. "Brandi I love you! I am here for you! I see everything all the injustice, politics, betrayal , brokenness...everything! I've got your back covered! " Then, He said to me, "Look up!" I said " Look up? " He said "Yes, look up!"
