The Bedroom Orchestra is the alter ego of Leeds based singer/songwriter Tristan Mackay.
Tristan has risen in popularity while busking professionally in Leeds over the last 18 months and in that time he released two completely independent EP's: 'Tales from a Bedroom Orchestra' and 'Live from the Lounge', a spoof live lounge session made using editing and overdubbing to create a fake interview/performance with Jo Whiley.
Tristan's music soon caught the attention of the powers that be and one of the songs from the 'Tales' EP was chosen to appear in the DVD release of the hit show 'Skins' after being recommended by fans. It can be heard on episode 4.
In late 2007, having caught the ear of various record companies, Tristan signed to Wales based Indie Label 'Red Kite Records' founded by Grammy award winning producer and engineer Martin Levin. Unfortunately the label closed before any recording took place, and Tristan is now pursuing another deal.
In May 2008, Tristan's music was showcased on BBC Radio 2.
It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right? Cold Outside is definitely growing on me since I put it on my iPod. Like it better than Beautiful now.
Hey Tris... just got back from a 3 day weekend on the Oregon coast. Loved the new demos. After the first few listens of the two new songs here, I think I prefer Beautiful... love the guitar. "Further On Up the Line" is still one of my favourites from the cd I bought from you in Leeds, But the best for me has got to be "If I Told You". Absolutely brilliant!... but then there's always The Wine and Me"... Oh, hell... I don't know. They're all bloody good!
i heard you in leeeeds outside of whsmiths haha and feel in loveeee you should upload that james morrison cover you did, that was amazinggggg :) kepp it up ;) x

Completely agree with Lauren - friday night was FANTABULOUS. Loved the whole gig, I could watch it all over again!

Anyway, I won't be able to watch you every lunch time now, I've finished my work experience :( I'll see you at weekends though, if you're there. And try get another gig together soon!
