The Bee’s Niece - a name warning you to expect super tweeness - added some adventure to their sleepy folk songs about cats and lost bikes with slide guitar and sweet notes coaxed out of a musical saw. The song Snow was aglow with hushed beauty, wine glasses with their rims rubbed in a circular fashion, amplified by a microphone, adding an unexpected coating of warm fuzziness. Singer Ragnhild’s beguiling Norwegian accent meant they managed to keep things just the right side of cute.
