You know, it's the same old story really..
Ragnhild met herself in the door one day, the rest of us met while we all studied nuclear science
at some posh university
No, really we met at a cafe in Manchester No it was at university No, it was at a gig somewhere.. or maybe a festival? Actually it's quite sad, we met online..
Wasn't it at a drawing class? I think it was while we were out in the
parkphotographing the sunset To tell you the truth, we met during the
war..
No, no, it's just cause our parents know each other.
Our
cats know each other.. and now we do too!
And I think we're quite
happy about that?
Or if you want the real story..
We studies together. Popular music and recording at University of Salford. A great course which of course gave us all the brilliant jobs we always wanted. Now everything is joyeux and the wealth is overflowing, but that wasn't enought for us, no. We felt an urge to throw all that away to get crap jobs and play music and be miserable and complain about the world. But at least the music gives us some kind of joy when we don't have to deal with incompetent promoters or the overall lack of success. Oh well, we could of course chosen the straight and narrow and become doctors and history teachers and repair televisions, but that seemed to easy.

I would like to share some exciting news: after a long application process, the NYC Musical Saw Festival was approved by the Guinness Book of Records to attempt to break the current world record for the 'Largest Musical Saw Ensemble'. The current world record (set in Poland last year) is 27 musical saw players playing together. Could we set a new world record on July 18th? We need your help for it! Please join us and be part of a Guinness World Record breaking attempt at the 7th annual NYC Musical Saw Festival: When: Saturday, July 18th, 2pm Where: Trinity Church, 37th street corner of 31st Avenue, Astoria (Queens), NYC. Admission: $10 Info: www.MusicalSawFestival.org
For the Guinness World Record attempt all sawists will be playing 2 pieces together (in what we call the 'Chorus of the Saws'): Ave Maria/Schubert - accompanied by church organ Over the Rainbow - accompanied by piano The 'Chorus of the Saws' will be conducted by Scott Munson.
Hope to see you there, and please - pass the info on - we need to get as many musical saw players to participate as possible to set a new Guinness World Record!
