It was back in March 07 that Neil, Bathy, Coco, Steve and Mark got together to form a no bullshit punk rock band in Edinburgh. Neil had just parted ways with ledgendery Edinburgh drunk punx The Happy Spastics and through a drunken chat with Bathy (ex-Legless, Scumline) decided to round up some local lads and start afresh. Bathy brought in long time mates Coco (Streets of Stalin Grad) and Steve (Fat Ben & The Looters) for bass & rhythm guitar duty's. Neil and Singer Mark had been talking about getting together for sometime, although Mark was too lazy to learn guitar properly, so was in the end asked to provide the rants.
A few months later the guys played unannounced at the Three Tunns and went down a storm, shortly after they were in the studio recording their first 4 track demo at Shore Sounds, Leith. The cd was punted out to everyone that would take one (and some that tried to hesitate) and consisted of the first four songs the guys had written and finished. It was received very well, with Big Cheese magazine giving it Demo Of the month in their feb 08 issue.
Now almost a year has passed, The Begrudgers were planning another recording to shake up the scene, however Steve parted ways in feb on good terms due to other commitments. With gigs with The Hyperjax & Italy's The Undead a couple of weeks off they needed a new guitarist. Dixon (Square Peg, too many others to mention) was drafted in and fitted the bill no probs (has anyone seen his batman towel?).
Constantly working on new ideas the guys are looking to record again in the next couple of months. With their own brand of fuck you street punk they show no signs of backing down!
Fuck the Begrudgers!!
