Sounds Like
What Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Three might have sounded like if they’d jammed with The White Stripes.
- [David Burke, Rock n Reel Magazine, UK]
Craig Aspen & Cyd Frazzini met in bar in Seattle at the turn of the 21st century and immediately became
THE BELIEVERS. It’s probably no accident that the photos for their new record LUCKY YOU were shot in and around that very same bar - 7 years (and 3 albums) later.
Effortlessly blending 70’s pop hooks & harmonies (ala Fleetwood Mac) while keeping the other foot firmly planted in American roots & folk music, LUCKY YOU showcases the songwriting of Aspen & Frazzini.
All ten tracks on LUCKY YOU create lush sonic landscapes for the duo’s trademark harmonies... and a little help from Band of Horses’ Bill Reynolds and the twangtrust’s Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle & Lucinda Williams)
doesn’t hurt much either.
**************************
Influenced by the likes of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, the Believers’ fine song-writing and assured harmonies also bring to mind Fleetwood Mac at their most convincing.

“An excellent bunch of songs” - [Hi-Fi Plus Magazine, UK]
"The Believers are brilliant.”– [Bob Harris, BBC 2]
“Craig Aspen and Cyd Frazzini – the restless spirits behind the Believers – display a sharp eye for life on the other side of the tracks, elevating their music out of the ordinary.” - [No Depression]

a friend is like a flower that blooms just for you..and we can be our real selves when we see what's true..a friend is like a gentle rain when you thirst..and we are dancing rings around a rose called mother earth..a friend is like the moon choosing to reflect the light..and we couldn't see the beautiful stars unless it was for the dark of nights..a friend is like a flower we send to ourselves..a gift that just keeps on opening until the light of love is shown and felt.

Hey, thanks for friending me! I'm just a local who never knew where 2 go so I built this site in my spare time. It's all user generated so I really need some help uploading cool bars and specials. I also made up a place where we can post events too. Check it out and let me know what you think. I am still building it so if you have any suggestions, I can usually put them in right away. The site's address is yourareacode.com. Thanks again!
This month we have Regina Spektor with the theme to the film Prince Caspian (but don’t let that put you off, it is really rather wonderful), Mermaid Skeletons with a great song that’s worth it for the chorus alone, the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, who are as good as their name if not more so and finally the legendary Chip Taylor with the thought-provoking Former American Soldier. Great listening, and if you like the tracks, buy the albums!
