Jenny and Andy started playing music together at the ages of 6 and 7. They attended a recorder class in Bangor. He hated it, she loved it, he was bad, she was good, he was untalented, she, a child prodigy. Andy's jealousy was fierce. On one memorable occasion when Jenny proudly proclaimed she had finished her word-search first, Andy spitefully reminded her it was because she had no friends.
However, things have now changed somewhat. Whilst Andy remains relatively untalented and Jenny is a recorder playing genius, the pair are friends. They formed the Benjamins in early 2005 and recruited the wonderful Jonny on bass in 2006. They thought at first they could do without the benefits brought by an extra 4 strings of nickel wound steel but soon came to realise bass frequencies were needed, Jonny was and still is needed. Jonny is loved and treasured by Andy and Jenny and the wonderful music stands as a testament to this fierce and protective love.
